摘要： This invention discloses, as an article of manufacture, a capsule having a hollow interior and an enclosing wall, referred to as a membrane. The membrane is not soluble in water, but is permeable to water or an aqueous solution. The membrane is comprised of a first material and can also include a second material. When the membrane is comprised of the first material and the second material, then it is referred to as a composite material wherein the first material forms sporting matrix having the second material fixed in the matrix. The first material is a urethane/vinyl hybrid polymer and is not soluble in, reactive with or a solvent for the second material. The second material is a particulate solid, different from the first material, and is not soluble in, reactive with or a solvent for the first material. The capsule of this invention is useful to maintain in the hollow interior thereof a solid, water-soluble first chemical composition which is not soluble in, reactive with or a solvent for the enclosing wall of the capsule. In operation, the exterior of the capsule, having the first composition maintained in the interior thereof, is placed in contact with a water-soluble second chemical composition which is not soluble in, reactive with or a solvent for the enclosing wall of the capsule, but which is reactive with the first chemical composition.

摘要： A reclosable package comprises a receptacle and a header that communicate via a mouth, and a slider-zipper assembly disposed in the mouth, the slider being exposed when a first portion of the header is removed. The header further comprises second and third portions having respective states of tension that will cause the second and third portions of the header to curl or bend away from the slider when the first portion of the header is removed, for example, by tearing or cutting. The second and third portions of the header curl or bend in opposite directions to allow easy access to the slider by the consumer. In a method of manufacture, the second and third portions of the header are heat treated to produce differential shrink tension states. Alternatively, the header material can be a thermoplastic laminate film in which the layers have different shrink tension states.

摘要： A reclosable package having a front wall (10), a rear wall (14), bottom (18), top (16), and first and second sides (20, 22). A zipper (24) extends across the package top between the sides with a slider (30) disposed along the zipper between a zipper fully open position when the slider is at the first side (20) and a fully closed position when the slider is at the second side (22). A side seal (36) on the first side (20) joins the front wall (10) to the rear wall (14) and extends between the bottom (18) and the zipper (24). The side seal (36) further extends toward the second side (22) for a distance at least as long as the length of the slider (30). When the slider (30) is in the zipper fully open position it parks above the side seal (36) and out of the mouth of the package (10) leading to a product cavity (38).

摘要： A reclosable packaging having a slider/zipper assembly, a header and a tamper-evident feature which undergoes a tangible change when the slider is moved relative to the header for the first time. The tamper-evident feature comprises a layer of sticky or adhesive material placed between a surface of the header and an opposing surface of the slider, thus forming a seal. The material must have a peel strength or resistance to rupture sufficient to resist an initial movement of the slider along the zipper. If the slider is stuck or adhered to the header, this indicates that the package or bag has not been tampered with, i.e., previously opened. When sufficient force is applied, the seal can be broken, allowing the slider to move relative to the header along the zipper in the direction of opening. Once broken, the seal cannot be restored by simply returning the slider to its original position and pressing the slider against the sticky or adhesive material. Thus the slider remains in an unsealed state which is readily detectable by the consumer, thereby providing a tangible indication that the package has been previously opened.
