The envelopes may be manufactured by die-cutting the label portions in a paper web, applying the adhesive liner to one side of the paper web covering the die-cut label portions, die-cutting an envelope blank from the paper web, and forming a folded envelope from the blank.

Each accumulator bag includes a first polymer film panel and a second polymer film panel welded together to form a pressurizable chamber with an aperture formed in the bag to provide access to the pressurizable chamber. An annular adhesive element is secured to each bag such that an aperture of the annular adhesive element is generally concentric with the aperture of the accumulator bag. The carrier sheet includes an upper adhesive stripe, a lower adhesive stripe, and a silicone stripe. The plurality of accumulator bags is removeably secured to the carrier sheet by adhering an upper portion of each bag to the upper adhesive stripe, adhering a lower portion of each bag to the lower adhesive stripe, and positioning the annular adhesive element in contact with the silicone stripe.

When the web is directed between the first and second rollers, the meshing of the ridges may form ribs into the web.

Control of the perforating and sealing stations is preferably closed loop. The seal and perforation inspection station preferably includes a perforation detector that triggers a vision system and/or a camera, and the film is illuminated. Preferably, the inspection station is enclosed in an opaque housing, or the ambient light is otherwise blocked. The seal and perforation inspection station preferably provides an image output a display visible to a user. The vision system preferably includes a perforation location module and/or determines the distance between the seal and perforation. A downstream processing station can be provided, and can have a detected fault input, connected to a fault detect output from the seal and perforation inspection station.

摘要： An apparatus for application of zippers to film material 10 comprises an applicator bar 22 for presenting pre-cut lengths of zipper 26 to the film and a heated sealing bar 34 for sealing the pre-cut lengths to the film. The applicator bar, the sealing bar, feed rollers 30a, 30b and a zipper cutter 32 are mounted for movement with the film on a linear motor 14. A pneumatic cylinder 18 raised the application bar towards the film 10. The applicator bar moves in direction C to apply the zipper to the film 10 moving in direction A, then moves with the sealing bar and the film in direction B, away from the film in direction C′, back to its starting position in direction B′, then towards the film again in direction C. A further length of zipper may be fed to the applicator bar at any time after the bar has moved away from the film in direction C′ and therefore during an end portion of the forward stroke of the motor, or during its return stroke.

More specifically, the apparatus is a form-fill-seal machine having means for placing product on a web of packaging film; means for forming a receptacle having an interior volume and a mouth, with the product in the interior volume and a string zipper installed in the mouth, the web of packaging film forming at least one wall of the receptacle; a slider insertion device for inserting sliders on the string zipper; and means for sealing the receptacle so that ambient air cannot enter the interior volume. The form-fill-seal machine may further include either means for aligning an edge of the web with a flangeless zipper strip of the zipper strip before the web is joined to the flangeless zipper strip or means for trimming an edge of the web after a portion of the web proximal to the edge has been joined to a flangeless zipper strip of the string zipper.
