摘要： User interfaces, methods, systems, and computer-readable media for activating and/or displaying text input systems on display devices may include: (a) displaying a text input system activation target at a user changeable location on a display device; (b) receiving user input directed to the activation target; and (c) activating a text input system in response to the user input. Such user interfaces, methods, and systems further may include (d) displaying a pre-interaction condition of the activation target; (e) receiving user input directed to the activation target in this pre-interaction condition; and (f) changing an appearance of the activation target from the pre-interaction condition to a larger size and/or a different visual appearance in response to this user input. Additional aspects of this invention relate to computer-readable media for providing user interfaces, systems, and methods as described above.

摘要： Graphical user interfaces for computer display devices include a page bar control element that allows a user to easily and quickly navigate among the pages of a multiple page electronic document and/or among the pages of a plurality of electronic documents. In some examples, the page bar control element displayed on the computer system provides a visual representation of a multiple pages of the document(s), wherein the visual representation includes several tabs or markers, each marker representing one or more pages of the document(s). In some examples, the markers are rendered in colors that enable quick identification of the current page and/or the page being viewed as well as pages viewed in a riffling action. The page bar control element also may include a visual “flag” that helps users quickly locate text that they have previously flagged or that the system has automatically flagged for them.

摘要： A device includes a control configured to provide 5-way navigation. The control includes a fingerprint sensor with a platen that is coupled to an actuation sensor. A user can navigate by sliding a finger across the platen so as to provide direction input. In addition, the user can make a selection by applying a center press to the platen. In an embodiment, the fingerprint sensor is a sweep sensor and is rotatably mounted to the device. The device may include a display that is configured for a first orientation that matches the orientation of the control. The display and the control may be switched to a second orientation so that the user can more efficiently use the device in the second orientation.

摘要： The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for increasing the perceived quality of displayed images. This is achieved in a variety of ways including the use of a plurality of device specific display characteristics when preparing images for display. It is also achieved through the monitoring of display device and/or ambient light conditions, e.g., on a periodic basis, and using the obtained information when controlling display output. Another approach to improving the perceived quality of displayed images involves the use of information relating to a specific user's ability to perceive image characteristics such as color. By customizing display output to an individual user's own physical perception capabilities and/or viewing characteristics it is possible to enhance the image quality perceived by the individual viewer as compared to embodiments which do not take into consideration individual user characteristics.

The correction interface accepts input via a stylus to enable changes to the editable text portion on a character-by-character basis (e.g., to add, delete, or change individual characters). The correction interface further may include or associate with a “suggestion list” portion that includes alternative(s) to substitute into the editable text portion and/or a “task list” portion that displays potential actions available through the interface. The invention also relates to systems, methods, and computer-readable media to activate, provide, and operate such interfaces.

摘要： Digitized handwriting is captured and provided in real-time to a display in the form of polylines. The polylines are then converted to a parametric representation, thereby filtering out noise and distortion effects attributable to the digitization process. To further refine quality, the smoothed, digitized handwriting is further subjected to edge-smoothing processing to mitigate the effects of relatively low-resolution displays. In this manner, the present invention improves the appearance of digitized handwriting in comparison to prior art techniques.
