摘要: A system to compare process sizes is described. In one example embodiment, the system comprises memory and one or more processing devices. The memory may be configured to store executable instructions. The one or more processing devices may be configured to execute the instructions. The instructions may cause the one or more processing devices to generate a first process that corresponds to an activity, generate data objects that correspond to the elements associated with the activity, and identify a number of data objects associated with the first process. The one or more processing devices may further obtain a reference size for the first process based on the number of data objects and compare the reference size for the first process with the reference size for another process.

摘要: A method and apparatus for creating links between a representation, (e.g. text data,) and a realization, (e.g. corresponding audio data,) is provided. According to the invention the realization is structured by combining a time-stamped version of the representation generated from the realization with structural information from the representation. Thereby so called hyper links between representation and realization are created. These hyper links are used for performing search operations in realization data equivalent to those which are possible in representation data, enabling an improved access to the realization (e.g. via audio databases).

摘要: A first device transmits messages to a second device. The first device keeps track of messages that have already been transmitted from the first device to the second device, experiences an interruption in transmission of messages at the first device, and resumes the transmission from the first device following the interruption. Resuming the transmission includes transmitting only messages that have not already been completely transmitted from the first device to the second device.

摘要: Correcting errors in data objects includes executing a main process to process the data objects, detecting an error in a first data object via the main process, sending, to an error correcting process, the data object and information associated with the error, and instantiating an instance of the error correcting process to attempt to correct the error. The error correcting process is implemented using substantially a same environment as the main process. The main process continues to execute during and after sending the data object and the information to the error correcting process and while the error correcting process attempts to correct the error.

摘要: A characteristic identifier for digital data is generated. Thereby, the information contained in a digital data set is reduced such that the resulting identifier is made comparable to another identifier made in the same manner. The generated identifiers are used for detecting identical digital data or to determine inexact copies of digital data. In one embodiment of the invention, the digital data is a digital audio signal and the characteristic identifier is called an audio signature. The comparison of identical audio data according to the invention can be carried out without a person actually listening to the audio data. The present invention can be used to establish automated processes to find potential unauthorized copies of audio data, e.g., music recordings, and therefore enables a better enforcement of copyrights in the audio industry.

摘要: An analog-signal to square-wave-signal reshaping system for threshold-dependent reshaping of an analog input signal to a square wave signal; comprising an offset-inflicted reshaping circuit having a signal input adapted to be fed with the analog input signal, a reference input adapted to be fed with a reference voltage determining the reshaping threshold, and a signal output from which the square wave signal is available; an offset storage circuit connected to the signal input of the reshaping circuit and adapted to store a charging voltage corresponding to the offset voltage of the reshaping circuit, with this charging voltage being adapted to be superimposed on the analog input signal for offset compensation; a controllable switch circuit which in a first switching state takes no influence on the reshaping function of the reshaping circuit and, for the purpose of offset compensation, in a second switching state interrupts the reshaping operation of reshaping circuit and effects charging of the offset storage circuit to the charging voltage corresponding to the respective offset voltage; a detector circuit by means of which a detection signal can be generated at least approximately at those times at which the analog input signal passes a predetermined detection threshold; a delay circuit by means of which the detection signal can be delayed by a predetermined delay period; and a switch control circuit, by means of which, upon occurrence of the delayed detection signal, the switch circuit can be driven to the second switching state for a predetermined window time duration; with the window time duration lying between the adjacent edges of the square wave signal.

摘要: A method for testing a spark-ignited internal combustion engine is proposed, wherein a pulse-shaped signal derived from the ignition system is made available which signal allocates a pulse (34, 34a, 34b) to each switching process occurring in the ignition system. A first pulse (34) of a pulse group (32, 33) of the signal respectively starts a retriggerable timer (16) which, during its active phase (T.sub.A, T'.sub.A), suppresses the pulses (34a, 34b) of the pulse group (32, 33) following the first pulse (34). The time to be predetermined for the retriggerable timer (16) must be predetermined such that it is longer than the maximum interval (T.sub.1, T.sub.2) between the pulses (34, 34a, 34b) of a pulse group (32, 33). The method according to the invention is particularly suitable for testing a spark-ignited internal combustion engine which is provided with an ignition system comprising a spark band ignition.
