Abstract:
A gripper (1) for a contact lens (CL) includes a gripper head (10) having a bearing surface (11), the bearing surface (11) having at least one opening (110) through which underpressure can be applied in order to suck the contact lens (CL) against the bearing surface (11) and through which overpressure can be applied in order to release the contact lens (CL) from the bearing surface (11). The gripper further includes a detection opening (111) in the bearing surface (11) through which a separate underpressure can be applied.
Abstract:
A battery monitoring device includes a sensor device, which is electrically connectable to an automobile battery and may be placed thereon, and which is arranged to detect an operating variable of the battery. The battery monitoring device further includes a detection circuit, which is connected via a cable connection to the sensor device; and a data processing circuit, which is connected via a potential isolation circuit to the detection circuit. The potential isolation circuit provides isolation of the potential level of the detection circuit from a potential level of the data processing circuit for direct components.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel thienopyridine derivatives of formula (I), wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 and Y have the meaning cited in claim 1, are HSP90-inhibitors and can be used for producing a medicament for treating illnesses, wherein the inhibition, regulation and/or modulation of HSP90 plays a roll.
Abstract:
Novel 1,5 diphenylpyrazole derivatives of the formula (I), in which R1-R6 have the meanings indicated in Claim 1, are HSP90 inhibitors and can be used for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of diseases in which the inhibition, regulation and/or modulation of HSP90 plays a role.
Abstract:
Thiazole derivatives of the formula I in which R1, R2, R3, V, W, X and B are as defined in claim 1, act as phosphodiesterase IV inhibitors and can be employed for the treatment of osteoporosis, tumors, cachexia, atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes mellitus, inflammatory processes, allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases, myocardial diseases and AIDS.
Abstract:
A technique is disclosed for redirecting information in a segmented virtual machine. The technique includes sending information to a shell VM and redirecting the information to bypass the shell VM. A technique for evaluating whether to redirect information may include sending a discovery packet, receiving a reply to the discovery packet; and determining whether a switch is capable of stitching based on the reply. A technique for responding to a discovery packet may include receiving the discovery packet at a switch and sending a response indicating a capability of the switch.
Abstract:
An ophthalmic lens , e.g. a contact lens, is centered in a concave trough (10) of an inspection cell (1) which is filled with liquid (W). The inspection cell (10) has a channel (11) which is in communication with the concave trough (10). Centering of the ophthalmic lens is achieved by applying a pulse (P) of a fluid to the liquid (W) so as to whirl up the ophthalmic lens (CL) and by allowing the ophthalmic lens (CL) to settle down in the center of the concave trough (10).
Abstract:
Pyrrolopyrimidine derivatives of the formula I in which R3, R4, R5, R6 and X are as defined in claim 1, act as phosphodiesterase VII inhibitors and can be employed for the treatment of osteoporosis, tumours, cachexia, atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes mellitus, inflammatory processes, allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases, myocardial diseases and AIDS.
Abstract:
An oil filter for an internal combustion engine with a cup-shaped housing that is releasably connectable to a receiving head. The housing has a first interlocking element that extends across at least a portion of the outer circumference of the housing and is interrupted by at least one axially extending recess. The filter element has a liquid-tight canister provided on its outer surface with second interlocking elements, which fit into the recesses of corresponding first interlocking elements when the filter element is installed in the housing.
Abstract:
In general, the invention is directed to devices and methods that are useful for surface preparation of implantable medical devices. In the case of a vascular graft, the invention presents devices and methods that enhance endothelial cell seeding by providing recesses in the luminal surface that can receive endothelial cells. When the device is constructed of a material such as expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), the recesses may be created by physical processing of the microstructures of the material. The physical processing lifts nodes from the surface, forming recesses that can receive endothelial cells.
