    摘要: Methods and structures are disclosed to minimize the presence of vapor clouding in the path between an energy (e.g., radiation) source and the dampening fluid layer in a variable data lithography system. Also disclosed are conditions for optimizing vaporization of regions of the dampening fluid layer for a given laser source power. Conditions are also disclosed for minimizing re-condensation of vaporized dampening fluid onto the patterned dampening fluid layer. Accordingly, a reduction in the power required for, and an increase in the reproducibility of, patterning of a dampening fluid layer over a reimageable surface in a variable data lithography system are disclosed.

    摘要: Articles and methods for making capsules that include a cap of electrophoretic material suspended in a dielectric fluid are disclosed. The cap of electrophoretic material and dielectric fluid are encapsulated in a shell that forms the capsule. The cap may be moved to a viewable portion of an inner surface of the capsule shell, the cap proximate to the inner surface, when an electric field from of a pair of separated electrodes translates the cap of electrophoretic material in the capsule.

    摘要: An apparatus and process for curing UV-curable inks is provided comprising multiple printhead ejectors and ultraviolet light emitting diodes (UV-LEDs). The printhead ejectors are placed on the assembly in a geometry corresponding to the UV-LEDs such that when a printhead ejector deposits an ink droplet upon a substrate moving relative to the assembly, at least one UV-LED can pass directly over the ink droplet.
