Abstract:
New carbon nanotube polymers and compositions are provided. The polymers comprise recurring blocks or units of carbon nanotubes and a compound other than a carbon nanotube. The compound is a polymeric or oligomeric block and is bonded to the carbon nanotube outer sidewall rather than to the carbon nanotube end, and is preferably a block copolymer of the compound and the carbon nanotube. The polymers can be used to prepare compositions that can be formed into products that are useful for building components present in airplanes.
Abstract:
A regulating apparatus for a hydraulic cylinder of a treadmill having a rotating knob with an opening formed at a top end thereof and with a neck formed at a bottom end thereof. The periphery of the neck is marked with a plurality of numbers or with colors from light to dark. An annular base includes a ring-shaped gap for dividing it into an internal and external side. The external side has a viewing window extending to the ring-shaped gap. A magnifying glass is received within the viewing window. Moreover, the internal side of the annular base is fixed atop the hydraulic cylinder. In addition, the rotating knob is fixed on the annular base in such a manner that an adjusting post projects from the opening of the regulating knob and the neck is inserted into the ring-shaped gap. Therefore, the number or the color disposed on the neck is visible from the viewing window when the cushioning force of the hydraulic cylinder is adjusted.
Abstract:
A computerized system and method for estimating insurance loss reserves and confidence intervals using insurance policy and claim level detail predictive modeling. Predictive models are applied to historical loss, premium and other insurer data, as well as external data, at the level of policy detail to predict ultimate losses and allocated loss adjustment expenses for a group of policies. From the aggregate of such ultimate losses, paid losses to date are subtracted to derive an estimate of loss reserves. Dynamic changes in a group of policies can be detected enabling evaluation of their impact on loss reserves. In addition, confidence intervals around the estimates can be estimated by sampling the policy-by-policy estimates of ultimate losses.
Abstract:
A technique for processing acoustic waveforms includes: (a) transforming at least a portion of the acoustic waveforms to produce frequency-domain signals; (b) obtaining a model dispersion curve based on a borehole-formation model having a set of borehole-formation parameters; (c) adjusting phases of the frequency-domain signals according to the model dispersion curve to produce back-propagated signals; (d) computing coherence of the back-propagated signals; (e) repeating steps (b)-(d) by varying values of the set of borehole-formation parameters until the coherence reaches a selected criterion; and (f) outputting at least a portion of the set of borehole-formation parameters.
Abstract:
A method for compression of sonic log data includes sorting peak components in the sonic data; filtering the sorted peak components to remove high-frequency portions in the peak components; and decimating the filtered peak components according to a selected ratio to produce compressed data. A method for telemetry transmission of downhole sonic log data includes sorting peak components in the sonic log data; compressing the sorted peak components to produce compressed data; packing the compressed data to produce data packets for telemetry transmission; and sending the data packets where desired using telemetry.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a shock absorption structure for a treadmill having two handle frames, a support base, a frame portion and an adjustable supporting foot. A connecting arm has one end pivotably connected to the lower portion of each of both handle frames and the other end pivotably connected to the frame portion. A flexible shock absorption unit is pivotably interposed between an extension member of each handle frame and each connecting arm. Therefore, when the force is applied to the frame portion, both flexible shock absorption units provide proper cushioning effect. Moreover, the flexible shock absorption unit is constructed in such a way that the cushioning force can be freely adjustable so as to enhance the using comfort.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a magnetic control multifunctional exercise apparatus with double cable sheave. The exercise apparatus includes a base frame having a seat pad and an adjustable back pad. Two upright bars and one support frame are disposed at rear and front ends of the base frame. The base frame further has a magnetic control retarding mechanism provided with two cable sheaves and disposed at the bottom of the rear end of the base frame. Two pull cables are connected with two drive cables of the magnetic control retarding mechanism by means of a plurality of guide pulleys. Furthermore, a flywheel of the magnetic control retarding mechanism is coupled for unidirectional rotation, thereby reaching the expected effect of the magnetic control retarding mechanism.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hidden roller of a treadmill. A hidden roller set is pivotably connected at the bottom end of both hollow support arms by means of a pivot, respectively. As a result, the hidden roller sets can be received inside the hollow support arms when the treadmill base is placed in operational state, thereby avoiding an unexpected sliding shift. To the contrary, the hidden roller sets can be taken out when the treadmill base is folded up in storage position. Thus, the rollers are in contact with the ground and work with the fixed type roller set at the rear end of the base frame. Accordingly, the treadmill can be smoothly moved.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a rocker arm of a treadmill including a main frame, a running bed, a front support bar and a rear support bar. Moreover, an electronic console and two handles disposed on the main frame, while a running belt is wrapped around the running bed for an in-place rotation. In addition, the main frame has a set of rocker arms which can be grabbed by the user and swung back and forth. The set of rocker arms has the same relative structural design, each of which includes a base rotation bar and a rocking arm with a handgrip. Meanwhile, one end of the base rotation bar is hingedly attached to a pivot on the main frame, while the other end is pivotably attached to the end of the rocking arm. Furthermore, a spiral shape spring part is interposed between said base rotation bar and the bottom of said running bed, thereby providing said rocking arms with the necessary resistance.
