Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitting node may perform a directional listen-before-talk (LBT) using a sensing beam. The transmitting node may start a channel occupancy time (COT) after the directional LBT based at least in part on one of a COT claiming signal or a time stamp. The transmitting node may perform, to a receiving node, one or more transmissions during the COT using one or more transmit beams that are included in the sensing beam. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To support a reliable array response for wideband communications, a base station may configure a set of transmission instances for a set of signals distributed across a wideband carrier bandwidth. At least one transmission instance of the set of transmission instances may be configured in each sub-band of the carrier bandwidth. The base station may transmit the set of signals in the configured transmission instances to a user equipment (UE). The UE may receive the set of signals distributed across the carrier bandwidth and may measure, for the signals, a set of signal measurements corresponding to the set of sub-bands. Based on the signal measurements, the UE may determine a set of communication beams for the set of sub-bands. Using one or more of the determined communication beams, the UE may communicate with the base station in the carrier bandwidth.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for sidelink channel access via a floating channel occupancy. In some aspects, a cellular device may operate within a proximity of one or more wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) devices and may conditionally support a search space associated with a floating sidelink synchronization signal block (SSB). For example, if the cellular device detects that the Wi-Fi devices are precluding the cellular device from acquiring channel access or otherwise making it relatively more difficult for the cellular device to acquire channel access, the cellular device may enable or active a use of the search space associated with the floating sidelink SSB. If enabled or activated, the cellular device may transmit a floating sidelink SSB within the search space independent of slot boundaries upon a successful listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems may support a slot transmission detection procedure for sidelink communications. A sidelink user equipment may monitor, during a slot and within one or more subbands, for signaling associated with a first sidelink transmission that corresponds to resources that span a duration of the slot. The signaling may include sidelink control information, a demodulation reference signal, or other sidelink signaling associated with the first sidelink transmission. The user equipment may determine a signal strength or one or more other parameters associated with the signaling. The user equipment may determine whether to transmit a second sidelink transmission having a duration that is less than a first duration of the first sidelink transmission based on the signal strength, the one or more parameters, or both associated with the signaling.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for user equipment (UE) in sidelink communications to agree on transmission directions and a traffic pattern for a sidelink channel, where a transmitting UE has higher priority in channel access than a receiving UE. When establishing a connection via sidelink, two or more UEs may agree on a resource pattern for a set of sidelink resources where a first UE has higher priority than a second UE for a first subset of resources. The first UE may be given higher priority in the first subset of resources through adjustments to a channel access procedure for requesting channel access, adjustments to one or more access thresholds or channel access priority classes, contention window adjustments, or any combinations thereof. Layer one signaling may be used to reconfigure channel access priority and the traffic pattern between UEs.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE) from a base station, a control message associated with a plurality of listen before talk (LBT) threshold values including a first LBT threshold value and a second LBT threshold value. Abstract: Enhanced measurements for new radio-unlicensed (NR-U) operations are disclosed. Compatible user equipments (UEs) may be configured to perform virtual full listen before talk (LBT) procedures for measurement purposes. The UEs may then compile LBT statistics derived from the virtual LBT procedures and include such statistics in an enhanced measurement report the their serving base stations. The LBT statistics provide a more direct and detailed reflection of the usage of a shared communication channel. Such UEs may further be configured to gather additional LBT statistics from transmission-based LBT procedures in addition to the virtual LBT procedures. The additional direct and detailed usage of a shared channel may then be provided in the enhanced measurement reports in accordance with described aspects.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To support communications across a wideband, a base station and user equipment (UE) may communicate across the wideband using a set of sub-bands that span the carrier bandwidth (e.g., the wideband). In some cases, the UE may transmit, to the base station, an indication of a capability of the UE to communicate a wideband communication with the base station via the set of sub-band based communications with the base station. The UE may receive, from the base station (and, in some cases based on the capability of the UE), a configuration for communicating with the base station in the carrier bandwidth using the set of sub-bands. Then, the UE may communicate with the base station in the carrier bandwidth using one or more of the set of sub-bands in accordance with the configuration.
