Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support beam preference feedback for data transmissions. Generally, the described techniques provide for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE), that may perform a measurement of one or more reference signals from a base station. The UE may transmit to the base station an indication of a beam preference for communicating with the base station based on the measurement of the one or more reference signals. The UE may receive, based on the indication of the beam preference, downlink control information from the base station, the downlink control information including an indication of a beam for a data transmission. The UE may perform or receive the data transmission using the indicated beam.

Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable a network entity to configure a group of UEs to simultaneously transmit reference signals and to simultaneously transmit gradient vectors to the network entity, such that the network entity may receive the gradient vectors from the group of UEs as an aggregated gradient vector over the air. In one aspect, a base transmits, to a group of UEs, a configuration that configures the group of UEs to simultaneously transmit one or more group-common reference signals and to simultaneously transmit one or more gradient vectors associated with a federated learning procedure. The network entity receives, from the group of UEs, the one or more group-common reference signals and the one or more gradient vectors based on the configuration via multiple channels. The network entity calculates an average gradient vector based on the one or more group-common reference signals and the one or more gradient vectors.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a federated learning configuration comprising an indication of a power control loop for providing an update associated with a machine learning component, wherein the power control loop facilitates receiving the update at a received power that satisfies a received power condition associated with an over-the-air update aggregation procedure. The UE may transmit the update to the base station based at least in part on the federated learning configuration. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a UE may monitor a set of operational conditions associated with the UE. Based on the monitoring, the UE may transmit a request for an indication identifying a PDCCH monitoring location associated with receiving a next DCI communication. A base station may receive the request and determines whether to grant the request. Based on the determination, the base station may selectively transmit the indication to the UE. The UE may monitor in the PDCCH monitoring location if the indication is received in response to the request.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to support raw channel estimation. A base station may determine a transmission pattern for a set of multiple transmit beams, where each transmit beam may be associated with a respective reference signal, and may signal the transmission pattern to a user equipment (UE). The transmission pattern may indicate one or more sets of transmit beams, where each set may include two or more transmit beams used for concurrent transmission of respective reference signals. The set of multiple transmit beams may be associated with at least two synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), and the concurrently transmitted reference signals may each be associated with a respective orthogonal cover code. The UE may monitor for concurrently transmitted reference signals based on the transmission pattern, perform associated beamformed measurements, and transmit a channel state information report to the base station.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for measurements on a first frequency band applicable to procedures on a second frequency band. A technique that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) may include sending a base station (BS) an indication of the first frequency band, which may be a preferred measurement frequency band. The UE may then measure one or more reference signals (RSs) on the preferred measurement frequency band. The UE may then apply the measurements of the one or more RSs on the preferred measurement frequency band for one or more procedures on the second frequency band.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for detecting when a control link between a user equipment (UE) and a base station is lost and recovering the control link. In one example, a UE may detect that a control link with a base station is lost based on a timer or counter expiring or based on failing to receive signaling from the base station. In another example, a UE may be configured to transmit uplink transmissions to a base station to maintain a control link with the base station, and the base station may detect that a control link with the UE is lost if the base station fails to receive one or more uplink transmissions from the UE. If the control link is lost, the base station and the UE may communicate to re-establish the control link.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication performed by a first transmission and reception point (TRP), includes receiving a message indicating a measurement of a reference signal (RS) transmitted in a first band to a wireless device or one or more features of a second band estimated by the wireless device. The first TRP may operate in the second band not overlapping the first band, the one or more features comprise one or more of a channel characteristic, a signal strength, or a beam direction of the second band. The method also includes adjusting one or more parameters of the second band in response to receiving the message. The one or more parameters may include one or both of a channel or a beam direction. The method further includes transmitting signals to a user equipment (UE) in the second band according to the one or more adjusted parameters.
