Abstract: The disclosure relates to a communication technique for combining IoT technology with a 5G communication system for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a beyond-4G system, and a system therefor. The disclosure is applicable to intelligent services based on 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology (for example, smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cars, health care, digital education, retail businesses, security and safety-related services). At least one processor receives a remote management command from a profile server, determines if the remote management command can be handled, performs the received remote management command, switches the remote management command to a local management command if necessary according to the result of performing the remote management command, and controls the transceiver so as to transmit the result of performing the remote management command or the local management command to the profile server.

Operator specific services are permitted and provided by allowing an unauthorized terminal to search for and access the such services, and includes notifying a terminal of information corresponding to “operator specific services” by allowing a base station to broadcast predetermined information, displaying information acquired by a terminal, matching information acquired by the terminal with information broadcast from a base station to arrange services, requesting access and notifying a terminal performs an access for “operator specific services” upon accessing a network, providing a menu for determining whether neighboring base stations are capable of “operator specific services” to a user of a terminal, and allowing the terminal to determine whether there is the base station broadcasting the information.

However, the present invention is not limited to this embodiment and other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method for downloading profiles in a terminal in a wireless communication system include generating and storing an encryption key at a time point, loading the stored encryption key, when receiving profile download start information from a profile providing server, and downloading an encrypted profile for the electronic device from the profile providing server, via the loaded encryption key, and installing the encrypted profile in the electronic device. An electronic device configured to download a profile in a wireless communication system includes a memory, and a controller configured to generate an encryption key at a time point, store the encryption key in the memory, loading the stored encryption key, when receiving profile download start information from a profile providing server, and downloading an encrypted profile for the electronic device from the profile providing server, by using the loaded encryption key, and installing the downloaded profile.
