    Abstract: A phase modulation active device and a method of driving the same are provided. The method may include configuring, for the phase modulation active device including a plurality of channels that modulate a phase of incident light, a phase profile indicating a phase modulation target value to be implemented by the phase modulation active device; setting a phase limit value of the phase modulation active device; generating a modified phase profile based on the phase profile by modifying the phase modulation target value, for at least one channel from the plurality of channels that meets or exceeds the phase limit value, to a modified phase modulation target value that is less than the phase limit value in the phase profile; and operating the phase modulation active device based on the modified phase profile. Thus, improved optical modulation performance may be achieved.

The beam scanning apparatus includes a first antenna group including a plurality of first nano antennas disposed apart from each other, a first driving voltage line and a second driving voltage line connected to a first nano antenna and a second nano antenna, respectively, among the plurality of first nano antennas, the first nano antenna and the second nano antenna being respectively disposed at first ends within the first antenna group, and a first voltage divider configured to distribute a plurality of first voltages to one or more first middle nano antennas disposed between the first nano antenna and the second nano antenna, among the plurality of first nano antennas, at regular voltage intervals.

    Abstract: An image sensor is provided including a photo sensor layer including a plurality of photo-sensing cells; a color separation layer disposed on the photo sensor layer and including color separation elements embedded in a transparent spacer layer; and a micro lens array arranged on the color separation layer, the micro lens array including a plurality of micro lenses. The color separation layer separates light by wavelength. The micro lens array concentrates incident light onto the plurality of color separation elements. The color separation elements include: a first main splitter which transmits light of a first primary color onto first photo-sensing cells which faces the first main splitter and diffracts and/or refracts light of colors other than the first primary color onto photo-sensing cells adjacent to the first photo-sensing cell; and a plurality of first auxiliary splitters which are arranged surrounding the first main splitter.

    Abstract: At least one example embodiment discloses an image sensor with an improved light utilization efficiency based on reflective color filters. Since the image sensors may use most of an incident light for forming an image by using reflective color filters, light loss due to light absorption may be reduced. Therefore, light utilization efficiency of the image sensors may be improved while embodying color purity.
