A clutch pawl includes a synthetic resin body member and a metallic reinforcing member. The synthetic resin body member is pivotally mounted to a clutch cam. The metallic reinforcing member integrally pivots with the body member and reinforces the body member. The toggle spring member divides and biases the clutch pawl to the engaged position and the separated position.
Abstract:
The drag device is a device that regulates the relative rotation between a drive gear that interlocks with a spool and a drive shaft. The drag device includes a first drag member, a star drag, and a sound unit. The first drag member is configured to be integrally rotatable with the drive shaft, includes a pressing side configured to be pressed against the drive gear, and has a sound generating part on the pressing side. The star drag is configured to adjust a pressing force of the first drag member. The sound unit is configured to interlock with the drive gear, is disposed so as to face the sound generating part, and is configured to generate sound by interfering with the sound generating part by relative rotation between the drive gear and the drive shaft.
Abstract:
A dual-bearing reel spool braking device for applying a braking force to a spool rotatably mounted on a reel body, the dual-bearing reel spool braking device includes a brake drum, a rotating member, and a brake shoe. The brake drum is configured to be non-rotatably attached to the reel body. The rotating member is configured to rotate in conjunction with the rotation of the spool. The brake shoe is detachably attached to the rotating member and configured to contact the brake drum. The rotating member comprises a main body section, a swinging shaft section indisposed on the main body section and swingably supporting the brake shoe, and a main body section configured to guide the brake shoe when mounting the brake shoe to the swinging shaft section.
Abstract:
A dual-bearing reel configured to feed a fishing line forward is disclosed. The dual-bearing reel includes a reel body and a handle. The reel body has a first side plate, a second side plate, and a connecting portion. The first side plate includes a circular portion having a circular shape, and a bulging portion bulging forward and downward from the circular portion. The second side plate is circular and disposed apart from the first side plate. The connecting portion connects the first side plate and the second side plate. The handle is rotatably mounted on the first side plate. A first central axis of the circular portion of the first side plate is offset forward and downward from a second central axis of the second side plate.
Abstract:
A fishing reel waterproof structure prevents water intrusion into a bearing member that supports an end of a handle shaft to make the end of the handle shaft rotatable respective to a reel body. The fishing reel waterproof structure includes a flange part, a fixation plate, a seal member and a water stop part. The flange part is on the handle shaft in a vicinity of the end of the handle shaft. The fixation plate restricts axial movement of the bearing member. The fixation plate has an annular shape and is fixed to the reel body. An inner peripheral part of the fixation plate is disposed between the flange part and the bearing member to contact a lateral surface of the bearing member. The seal member seals between the reel body and the fixation plate. The water stop part prevents water intrusion between the flange part and the fixation plate.
Abstract:
A dual-bearing reel includes a regulating member, a fixation member and an operating lever. The regulating member includes a flange part. The operating lever includes a through hole penetrated by the regulating member. The operating lever is attached to the regulating member and interposed between the flange part and the fixation member. Additionally, the through hole has a minor axis and a major axis. One of the regulating member and the operating lever includes at least one engaging recess that is aligned in a circumferential direction and is opened in a radial direction. The other of the regulating member and the operating lever includes an engaging protrusion to be engaged with the at least one engaging recess. The engaging protrusion and the at least one engaging recess are set in an engaged state or a disengaged state by moving the operating lever in a direction of the major axis.
Abstract:
A dual-bearing reel includes a handle, a spool, a spool shaft, a clutch mechanism, a pinion gear, and an elastic member. The spool shaft is connected to the spool to be integrally rotatable and has a first abutting portion. The pinion gear has a second abutting portion to abut the first abutting portion in the axial direction in the inner circumferential portion thereof, and can move in the axial direction between a coupled position, in which the pinion gear is connected to the spool shaft so as to be integrally rotatable, and a decoupled position, in which the connection is disconnected. When the pinion gear is in the coupled position, the elastic member contacts the distal end of the pinion gear and biases the first abutting portion and the second abutting portion in directions away from each other.
Abstract:
A handle is rotatably attached to a first reel body. A second reel body has a cylindrical shape, and is an interval apart from the first reel body in an axial direction. A spool is disposed between the first reel body and the second reel body. A mount includes a mount surface facing in a first direction to contact the fishing rod when the dual-bearing reel is mounted to the fishing rod. The second reel body includes an outer peripheral surface and an outer lateral surface. The outer lateral surface faces outward in the axial direction, and the outer peripheral surface of the second reel body has a width narrower towards a first directional end of the second reel body than towards a second directional end of the second reel body. The second directional end is opposite to the first direction end.
Abstract:
A dual-bearing reel includes a reel body, a tubular pinion gear, a first bearing, a spool shaft, a spool attached to the spool shaft, and a clutch mechanism. The first bearing member supports an outer perimeter surface of a first end portion of the pinion gear. The spool shaft extends through an interior of the pinion gear and is rotatably supported in the reel body. The clutch mechanism is configured to switch between a clutch on state to connect the pinion gear and the spool shaft, and a clutch off state to release the connection between the pinion gear and the spool shaft. The spool shaft includes a support portion configured to support an inner perimeter surface of a second end portion of the pinion gear in the clutch on state.
