摘要： A combustion-powered nail gun drives nails into a workpiece when both a head switch and a trigger switch are turned ON while a safety switch is turned ON. The nail driving operation cannot be performed if the safety switch is not ON even if both the head switch and the trigger switch are ON. The head switch is turned ON when a push lever is urged against the workpiece. Fuel/air mixture in a combustion chamber is ignited when the head switch and the trigger switch are turned ON irrespective of an order in which the head switch and the trigger switch are turned ON, whereby “successive-shot driving” can be performed in which the trigger switch is maintained in its ON position while successively driving a plurality of nails at different locations of the workpiece by repeatedly pushing and releasing the push lever toward and away from the workpiece.

摘要： A combustion-powered nail gun including an arrangement for promoting a piston returning motion to its upper dead center. A combustion chamber frame is movable toward and away from a head cover at which a spark plug is provided. When the combustion chamber frame is in close contact with the head cover, a combustion chamber is provided among the combustion chamber frame, the head cover, a part of a cylinder and a piston. After the piston reaches the lower dead center as a result of combustion, a thermal vacuum is provided in the combustion chamber for allowing the piston to move toward the upper dead center. The combustion chamber frame has a through-hole, and a valve is provided for normally closing the through-hole. A solenoid is provided to selectively open the valve for leaking an increased pressure in the combustion chamber through the through-hole during the return stroke of the piston.

摘要： An electric hammer drill including a vacuum dust collecting device for collecting dust from an area of an article being drilled by a drill bit wherein a hose extending from a body of the hammer drill is directly connected to an end of a movable first pipe which is slidably received in a stationary second pipe. A fan for transporting the dust by vacuum is fixed on a shaft extending across a dust collecting chamber in the body. The shaft is coaxial with, and releasably coupled with, an armature shaft of a motor. With this releasable coupling, the armature shaft is relatively short and unlikely to bend or flex, so that vibration produced during a drilling operation is small. During the drilling operation, the first pipe slides back and forth along the second pipe as a suction hood moves in a direction opposite to the direction of movement of the drill bit. Since a sliding portion between the first and second pipes is separated by the hose from a path of conveyance of the dust, the first pipe and the hood connected thereto always move smoothly relative to the drill bit.

First and second pistons 71, 81 are movably disposed in the first and second cylinders 7,8, respectively, and a bit 9 extends from the first piston 71. A rod 14 formed with a rack 14A extends from the second piston 72. The rack 14A is engageable with a motion conversion mechanism 6 for converting a linear motion of the rod 14 into rotational motion of the bit 9.

摘要： An air motor has a rotor rotatable in response to the pressure of pressurized air. A cylindrical rotary member is connected to the air motor for causing a rotation in synchronism with the rotation of the rotor. A rotary slider is slidable in the axial direction along the inner cylindrical wall of the rotary member. A rotational force transmitting mechanism is provided for transmitting the rotation of the rotary member to the rotary slider. A shaft has one end fixed to the rotary slider and the other end equipped with a piston and a driver bit holder. The rotational and axial motion of the rotary slider is transmitted to a driver bit held in the driver bit holder. And, a cylinder guides the axial slide movement of the piston responsive to the pressure of pressurized air applied on a pressure-receiving surface of the piston.
