摘要: A discriminator is provided in a driving system for a plasma display panel so as to discriminate whether an input video signal is a moving picture signal or a still picture signal, and an A/D converter is provided for sampling the video signal for producing a pixel data having n-bit. The pixel data is converted into a false contour correcting pixel data having a (n+m)-bit based on a correcting pixel data derived from a table. A controller selects the false contour correcting pixel data when the input video signal is a moving picture signal, and selects the pixel data from the A/D converter when a still picture signal. The plasma display panel is driven by a pixel data determined by the controller.

摘要: In a toner image fixing apparatus for an image forming machine, toner image transferred on a paper is heated at a predetermined fixing temperature. The fixing temperature is set to be larger than or equal to the toner melting temperature plus 10 [.degree.C.], and smaller than or equal to the toner melting temperature plus 20 [.degree.C.], in order to prevent rumples from forming on the paper. The paper is run at a predetermined speed slightly lower than the transfer speed of 60 mm/sec or less. Two cylindrical rollers are used to press the paper. The hardness of the surface of one of the rollers is set at 40.degree. or more. The fixing length of the portion where the rollers are in contact with one another is set at 2.5 mm or less. The distance between the fixing apparatus and the edge of a guide plate is set to be larger than or equal to 0.2 times the diameter of one of the rollers. Another aspect of the invention is setting the fixing speed higher than or equal to 1.005 times transfer speed, and lower than or equal to 1.02 times the transfer speed.

摘要: A fixer (heater) includes a heat roller and a pressure roller pressing each other. The fixer heats a heated material by passing the heated material through a press region where the heat roller and the pressure roller meet. The fixer further includes an external heat roller heating the pressure roller from outside the pressure roller. A transit time taken for any given point on the heated material to pass through the press region is less than or equal to 2.3×10−2 sec. The surface temperature, T1 (° C.), of the heat roller and the surface temperature, T2 (° C.), of the pressure roller satisfy T1−T2≦100 (° C.), and preferably satisfy T1−T2≦70 (° C.). The load on the heat roller is reduced, and so is the power consumption.

摘要: A fixing device (23) of the present invention includes a fixing roller (131) contacting a toner image surface, and a pressure roller (132) contacting a surface opposite to the toner image surface. In the fixing device (23), a printing sheet (P) on which unfixed toner image is formed passes through a fixing nip portion (Y) where the fixing roller (131) and the pressure roller (132) are in contact with each other, so that the above-described toner image is fixed on the printing sheet (P). The fixing device (23) further includes a control circuit (150) which controls heater lamps (134 to 136) so that a surface temperature of the pressure roller (132) is in a temperature range defined by a cold offset occurring boundary temperature (Thc) of the fixing roller (131) and/or a hot offset occurring boundary temperature (Thh) of the fixing roller (131). With this, it is possible to suppress or prevent a transfer of toner to a pair of rollers (a transfer from the back of the printing sheet to the pressure roller, a transfer from the pressure roller to the fixing roller).

摘要: A toothed belt transmission is provided in which a toothed belt is trained around drive and driven pulleys. Each toothed pulley has a circumferential periphery formed with a plurality of teeth. Adjacent teeth are assigned as a first tooth portion and a second tooth portion. Respective tooth portions have arcuate portions at corners defined between tooth edges and tooth surfaces. A line touching the arcuate portions of the first and second tooth portions is assigned as a common tangential line. A line passing over a starting point of the arcuate portion of the tooth edge of the first tooth is assigned as a first tangential line. An angle between the common tangential line and the first tangential line falls in a range between 6° and 14.4°.

摘要: A fixing device cleaning device of the present invention is provided on a fixing device which includes: a heating member heated by heating means; and a pressing member pressed against the heating member at a predetermined contact pressure, and a recording sheet is sandwiched by a pressing section of the heating member and a pressing section of the pressing member, and developer on the recording sheet is fixed, and the fixing device cleaning device includes a cleaning member, formed in a scraper shape, which is pressed against the heating member or the pressing member so as to remove the developer from a surface of the heating member or the pressing member, wherein the cleaning member includes one or more opening sections in a vicinity of a contact point with respect to a cleaning target surface of the heating member or the pressing member. Thus, foreign substances scraped by the cleaning member move to a surface (a rear surface with respect to a surface which is in contact with the cleaning target surface) of the cleaning member via the opening sections, so that the foreign substances are not deposited on a gap between the cleaning member and the cleaning target surface, thereby preventing the deposited foreign substances from adhering to the cleaning target surface again.
