摘要: A point at a position near the contour of a desired object in an image being processed is designated, and a boundary point on the contour of the object is detected on the basis of the designation. From the detected boundary point, other points on the object-contour are subsequently detected to detect the object-contour. When the object-contour has been detected, either the inside or the outside of the object-contour is uniformly filled with prescribed image data, so as to extract the object from the image. Extracted image data resulting from the extraction is output. The extracted image data may include mask data indicating the color mixing ratio at a boundary portion between the object and the background thereof so that color adjustment or image composition can be performed using the mask data.

摘要: The present invention generally relates to processing of color images and more particularly to a method for smoothing a color boundary between an object and a background. A method for changing the color of an object against the color of a background to smooth the color boundary between the object and the background includes the steps of: identifying the color of the boundary part of the object as a boundary color; obtaining a mixing ratio for mixing the color of the object and the color of the background to produce the boundary color; changing the color of the object relative to the color of the background; and changing the boundary color while maintaining the mixing ratio substantially constant at the boundary part before and after the color change process.

摘要: A saddle type pipe joint for construction of branching connections, composed of a saddle-shaped main pipe-connecting part and a cylindrical branching pipe-connecting part. The two parts are integrally molded by a reaction molding, composed of a shape-memorized plastic resin, and have on the inner surfaces a fusion-bonding plastic resin layer containing a conductive filler. The pipe joint is made by polymerising a reactive liquid stock for a shape-memorizable plastic resin in a mold using a core made of a fusible plastic resin containing a conductive filler; cutting the main pipe part of the molded composite article along its length at the side opposite to the branching pipe-connecting site; and opening side edges of the thus-cut main pipe. The construction of branching connections is carried out by utilizing the restoration of the shape-memorized plastic resin to the original shape.

摘要: A driving mechanism of a cassette tape recorder, for inserting and ejecting a tape cassette and loading and unloading the tape of an inserted tape cassette. The driving mechanism comprises a positive motion cam having a cam groove consisting of two grooves having the shapes of circular arcs of different radiuses and different arc lengths, respectively, and a connecting groove interconnecting the two grooves, two followers suitably associated with the positive motion cam, two lever systems operatively interlocked with the two followers, respectively, and a single reversible motor interlocked with the positive motion cam. The operation of the reversible motor in the normal direction achieves a tape cassette inserting operation and a tape loading operation sequentially through the positive motion cam and the two lever systems. The operation of the reversible motor in the reverse direction achieves a tape unloading operation and a tape cassette ejecting operation sequentially through the same positive motion cam and the same lever systems.

摘要: Methods for improving the strength of glass substrates are described. One such method for strengthening a glass disk substrate for a storage device includes immersing at least a portion of the glass substrate in a solution, the solution including a solvent and a coating material selected from the group consisting of NaOH, KOH, and KNO3, removing the glass substrate from the solution, allowing the solvent to evaporate from the glass substrate, and heating the glass substrate at a preselected temperature for a preselected duration, where the preselected temperature is sufficient to substantially melt the coating material and is less than a transition temperature of the glass substrate.
