摘要: The verification system of this invention comprises an image forming apparatus 1 having verification function and a card reader 2 for reading a user ID from a card. The image forming apparatus 1 is capable of performing short-range radio communication with a portable instrument 3. The portable instrument 3 receives a polling command transmitted by the image forming apparatus 1 and sends back its own identification code if it is located near the image forming apparatus 1. The image forming apparatus 1 permits usage of all the functions thereof if it verifies that user is an officially permitted person according to user ID read by the card reader 2 and the identification code sent back from the portable instrument 3. Consequently, there is provided a verification system having a high security level and convenient for use or a verification system which permits usage of its apparatus and other related devices within an appropriate range depending on the security level of a verified method.

摘要: A data file management apparatus capable of avoiding the unauthorized deletion of a file shared by a plurality of users. In the apparatus connected to a network and having the function to store the data file in such as to be shared by the users, the address information of the joint file users permitted to share the data file are registered-while being related to the data file at the time of data file storage, and in response to a data file deletion request, a message to confirm the consent of the joint file users about the data file deletion is sent to the registered address information. Upon receiving a message returned from a joint file user not to consent to the data file deletion within a predetermined period from the confirming message transmission, the data file is not deleted, while the data file is deleted otherwise.

摘要: An image pickup apparatus which can precisely adjust the inclination of CCD sensor relative to an optical axis in a easy and simple manner is disclosed. A mount adjustment mechanism 200 includes a mount 202 for supporting a CCD sensor 130, a steel ball 218 secured relative to a rearward barrel 206 and threaded adjuster members 220, 222 disposed between the mount 202 and the rearward barrel 206. The steel ball 218 defines a mount reference for positioning the mount 204. By changing the depth to which the threaded adjuster members 220, 222 are threaded, an angular orientation of the mount 202 with respect to the rearward barrel 206 is changed to correct the inclination in the CCD sensor.

摘要: An image forming apparatus of the type having a transfer device for transferring images formed on an image carrying member to a transfer material such as a paper sheet. The apparatus comprises an image carrying member; a charging device for charging the image carrying member; a measuring device for measuring the surface potential of the image carrying member; and a transfer device for forming a transfer electric field by means of which images formed on the image carrying member are transferred to a transfer material. The measuring device measures the surface potential of the image carrying member when it is charged but is not undergoing image transfer and measures the surface potential of the image carrying member when it is charged and is undergoing image transfer. The transfer electric field formed by the transfer device is controlled on the basis of the measurement results thus obtained by the measuring device.

摘要: A gas-filled switch with an improved arc extinguishing characteristics. Such gas-filled switch comprises a gas-filled casing, a pair of electrodes disposed in the casing, a conductive retaining ring which encircles at least one of the electrodes, a permanent magnet of a cylindrical configuration mounted in the retaining ring, a conductive cylindrical body disposed in one end opening of the retaining ring, and an arc-drive coil encircling the conductive cylindrical body and having one end connected to the conductive cylindrical body and other end connected to the electrode. Due to such construction, one root of an arc generated between the electrodes is moved from one electrode to the conductive cylindrical body so that the other root of the arc is subjected to the magnetic flux of the permamemt magnet while the previous one root of the arc is subjected to the magnetic flux of the arc-drive coil so as to extinguish the arc during the rotation of the arc.

摘要: A touch panel has a first substrate, a second substrate, plural first conductive layers, plural second conductive layers, plural first electrodes, and plural second electrodes. The first conductive layers have substantially strip-shapes, and are arrayed on a first surface of the first substrate in the first direction, while extending in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The plural first electrodes are buried in the first surface of the first substrate, and one ends thereof are connected to the plural first conductive layers, respectively. The second substrate is arranged as opposed to the first surface. The plural second conductive layers are opposed to the plural first conductive layers, and are arrayed in the second direction while extending in the first direction. One ends of the plural second electrodes are connected to the plural second conductive layers, respectively.
