摘要: A circuit interrupter has first and second contacts that are actuatable relative to each other between a closed position wherein a power source and a load are in electrical communication and an open position wherein the power source and the load are not in electrical communication. An arc extinguisher is also provided for extinguishing an arc that develops in the vicinity of the contacts. An electromagnetic coil, when energized, generates a magnetic field that permeates an area where the arc develops, the magnetic field urging the arc toward the arc extinguisher regardless of a polarity of the contacts. An auxiliary switch is operably connected to the contacts, such that upon movement of the contacts relative to each other from the closed position toward the open position, the auxiliary switch is activated so as to energize a circuit feeding power to the electromagnetic coil, thereby generating the magnetic field.

摘要: An arc path formation unit and a direct current relay are disclosed. The arc path formation unit according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises a plurality of magnet parts. Each magnet part is arranged adjacent to a plurality of fixed contacts. Opposing surfaces of the plurality of magnet parts located adjacent to one fixed contact and facing each other, the opposing surfaces facing each other, and opposing surfaces of the magnet parts located adjacent to another fixed contact, the opposing surfaces facing each other, are configured to have the same polarity. Accordingly, electromagnetic forces formed in the fixed contacts are formed in a direction away from each other and away from a central portion. Accordingly, damage to each configuration of the arc path formation unit and the direct current relay caused by a generated arc can be minimized.

A magnet force exerted by the debris suction unit in the contact piece holding unit is larger than a magnetic force exerted by the magnet in the contact piece holding unit.
