Determination is made as to whether a vendor (an apparatus which allows use of a copying machine according to the value of any money entered) is connected to a copying machine having a power supply to be controlled. If the vendor is connected to the copying machine, an automatic power off function is inhibited. When the power supply is turned off, if any coin is entered in the vendor, the supply is automatically turned on.

C. of an organic polymer having an aromatic structure, wherein the monomers of the aromatic organic polymer are linked together by o-bonding or m-bonding, or wherein the aromatic organic polymer has a branched structure or a crosslinked structure. The carbon material has a randomly stacked, condensed aromatic ring structure.

A copying machine has an automatic document handling device including a document tray, first transport member for feeding original documents placed on said document tray to a predetermined position located between said document tray and an image reading position, second transport member for further feeding original documents fed to the predetermined position by the first transport member to the image reading position, a sensor detecting means for detecting the presence of original documents placed on the document tray and feeding member for feeding a copy paper to a fixed position within a copy paper feeding path before the original document is fed to the image reading position by the second transport member.When the presence of said third original document disposed on the document tray is detected by said sensor after a second original document has been fed from said document tray to the predetermined position via said first transport member during the copying operation for a first original document fed to the image reading position via said second transport member, the feeding member feeds the copy paper corresponding to a third original document.

An image duplicating apparatus in which data representative of operational conditions in accordance with which a document sheet is to be duplicated are entered by the user and the natures of document sheets to be duplicated are detected. The data are stored in memory areas of a memory which are respectively assigned to the natures of document sheets. Any one of the memory areas is selected from the memory for the data representative of the operational condition for one of the natures of document sheets written into a selected one of the memory areas and is then read from the storage device for the individual detected natures of document sheets. The copying operation is performed in accordance with the operational conditions represented by the data read by the data read arrangement.

A copying apparatus in which an operation mode defined by items such as the number of copies and copying magnification registered on an IC card can be changed by loading the IC card in the copying apparatus. A device in the apparatus prohibits change of the operation mode until the termination of a copying operation, when the IC card is inserted during the copying operation. Since the operation mode registered on the IC card is attached to the copying apparatus after the termination of the copying operation, no copying is performed in a mode that an operator does not desire.

An automatic temperature control system for a heated roller constituting a fixing device. This control system has functions to sense the surface temperature of the heated roller, to compare with the sensed temperature and a target temperature suited for fixing toner image on a paper, and to determine a temperature gradient or a rate of temperature change with respect to time lapse of the heated roller, whereby a heater for heating the heated roller is turned on and off in accordance with the temperature state based on the comparison and the temperature gradient, that is whether the temperature of the heated roller is rising or falling. This temperature control for the heated roller is repeated on the basis of the surface temperature of the heated roller sampled by the system at fixed intervals.

The monitoring system for a lithium ion secondary battery (1) for monitoring a state of the lithium ion secondary battery (2) that comprises: a control unit (3); a voltage detection unit which detects a terminal voltage of a battery unit (20) of one or a plurality of the lithium ion secondary battery/batteries (2); a calculation unit for an evaluation value change (5) which calculates a voltage change per unit time using the terminal voltage detected by the voltage detection unit (4) as the evaluation value change, or calculates an SOC using the terminal voltage detected by the voltage detection unit (4) and calculates an SOC change per unit time as the evaluation value change; and a determination unit (31) at the control unit (3) which determines deterioration of the battery unit (20) by comparing the evaluation value change calculated above with a reference evaluation value change under the predetermined condition.
