The developing unit further includes a supply part housing a supply screw, a collecting part housing a collecting screw, an agitation part housing an agitation screw, a first opening, a second opening, and a third opening. The developer is transported by the supply screw, the collecting screw, and the agitation screw from the collecting screw to the agitation screw through the first opening, from the agitation screw to the supply screw through the second opening, and from the supply screw to the collecting screw though the third opening in a developer circulation. A height of a bottom surface of the downstream part of the agitation screw is higher than a height of a bottom surface of the supply screw.

摘要： A gas laser device, including an a.c. power source for generating a.c. output voltage and a pair of electrodes positioned sandwiching discharge gap through which laser gas circulates. The pair of electrodes are connected to the a.c. power source for applying the a.c. voltage across the electrodes to achieve discharge in the discharge gap such as to create a positive column region and boundary layer regions, thereby to generate laser light. The positive column region is created in the discharge gap and a.c. power injected therein contributes to laser excitation. The boundary layer regions is created in a vicinity of one of the pair of electrodes, respectively and a.c. power injected therein does not contribute to laser excitation. A frequency of the a.c. power source is set to at least 700 kHz and an a.c. output voltage of the a.c. power source is set at a level such that a voltage in the positive column region is larger than a burden voltage in the boundary layer regions.In the gas laser device, it may be set that a dimension d between the pair of electrodes and a pressure p of the laser gas in the relationship of the following formula (A)pxd.gtoreq.34 torr.multidot.cm (A)As a result the input power supplied for laser excitation in the discharge gap is at least 50% of a total input power.

The toner container includes a pouch member that contains a new toner therein and can be turned inside out, and a cover member that covers an outside of the pouch member and includes an inlet through which a waste toner flows in, the inlet being formed opposite to a side of the cover member from which the new toner contained in the pouch member is discharged. After the new toner contained in the pouch member is discharged, the pouch member is turned inside out, and the waste toner flows from the inlet into the pouch member.

摘要： A development apparatus can uniform a toner density by controlling the phase of a toner density fluctuation, and can inhibit fluctuation of the toner density and variation of the toner charge amount. The development apparatus is configured to have a phase control mechanism, which forms a dividing point at a predetermined point (e.g., an opening section provided on a partition plate between two screws) in a flow of a developer within the development apparatus in which a toner density fluctuates spatially due to toner replenishment or toner consumption caused by development, causes the developer divided at the dividing point to pass through different paths (path 1, path 2), thereby shifts a phase of the fluctuation of the toner density within the developer, and thereafter causes thus obtained developers having shifted phases to merge with each other, to perform phase control. The developers spatially having toner density fluctuations are superimposed with shifted phases, thereby a high toner density and a low toner density are averaged so that the toner density is uniformed.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductive element including a conductive support rotatably supported and a charge injection layer and a surface protection layer sequentially laminated on the conductive support. A charger includes a conductive body for injecting, when a preselected voltage is applied thereto, a charge in the charge injection layer in contact with the surface protection layer. A writing unit exposes the charged surface of the photoconductive element imagewise to thereby locally vary the potential deposited on the photoconductive element and electrostatically form a latent image. A developing unit develops the latent image to thereby produce a corresponding toner image. The toner image is transferred from the photoconductive element to a recording medium. Assuming that the charge injection layer has a thickness of D micrometers, and that the potential deposited on the surface of the photoconductive element by the conductive member is V volts in absolute value, then a ratio V/D is confined in a preselected range that does not contaminate the background of the photoconductive element.
