摘要： A display device for an electronic dictionary such as an electronic translator or an electronic language dictionary is featured by displaying ornamental patterns formed with ornamental data and word data when the dictionary is left unoperated. The display device includes a memory circuit for storing the ornamental data and the word data, a mixing circuit responsive to the memory circuit for mixing the ornamental data and the word data, and a display responsive to the mixing circuit for displaying the mixed ornamental patterns. In a specific form of the present invention, the ornamental patterns are displayed by shifting or running the overall data across the display.

摘要： An input device, for enabling a first word represented in a first language is adapted for an electronic translator for obtaining a second word represented in a second language, equivalent to the first word, in response to the input of the first word. The input device includes a specifying circuit for specifying a letter, an input circuit for controlling the specifying circuit to input the letter into the electronic translator to at least partially define the first word, a memory for memorizing a plurality of words containing the first letter, an access circuit provided for addressing the memory to retrieve the words, and a display responsive to the access circuit for displaying the words. The access circuit is operated in response to the operation of the input circuit so that the memory develops words starting with the input letter. The specifying circuit is further operated, after the first word is selected, so that the memory develops additional words in either an alphabetical order or a reverse order in the first language.

摘要： Disclosed is a power transmission controller for an electronic calculator which controls power transmission to a computation circuit and a display device included within the electronic calculator. The power transmission controller indicates a forthcoming termination of the power transmission at a first stage in unison with a first control signal derived from a timer circuit through said display device. Then the power transmission controller terminates said power transmission at the second stage in accordance with a second control signal derived from the timer circuit. A clear key for conducting a clear operation functions to initiate the power transmission to said computation circuit and said display device.

摘要： In one preferred form of calculators, a multi-digit fluorescent display tube and an LSI semiconductor chip together are disposed on a printed circuit flexible film. More particularly, individual components of the multi-digit fluorescent display tube (that is, segmented anode electrodes, grid or accelerator electrodes and a directly heated type filament) and the LSI semiconductor chip are housed within a common package which in turn is disposed directly on the printed circuit flexible film. Connection between the fluorescent display tube and the LSI chip is accomplished by conductor leaves carried on the printed circuit flexible film. In addition, the printed circuit flexible film carries a plurality of stationary key contacts which constitute the keyboard of the calculators.
