The conductor leaves to be in contact with terminals of the liquid crystal display are formed to extend in the direction of length of the liquid crystal display to thereby establish room for a battery compartment.

摘要： Disclosed is a power transmission controller for an electronic calculator which controls power transmission to a computation circuit and a display device included within the electronic calculator. The power transmission controller indicates a forthcoming termination of the power transmission at a first stage in unison with a first control signal derived from a timer circuit through said display device. Then the power transmission controller terminates said power transmission at the second stage in accordance with a second control signal derived from the timer circuit. A clear key for conducting a clear operation functions to initiate the power transmission to said computation circuit and said display device.

摘要： The body of an electronic calculator comprising a keyboard, an arithmetic processor unit, a power supply and a digital display is accommodated within a casing at least a portion of which corresponding to the keyboard is made of a single flexible flat sheet such as cloth and leather. A plurality of limited regions of the flat sheet are given unique symbols and indicators corresponding to respective ones of keys of the keyboard by a printing technique for example, whereby the flexible flat sheet serving as manually operable key tops or actuators. When depressing a specific limited region of the key flat sheet, its associated elastomeric connector comes into contact with a comb shaped counter connector contact formed on a printed circuit board. Such an arrangement provides a keyboard with no protruding key tops for a totally new dimension in slimness and portability of calculators.

摘要： An electronic calculator is provided which generates confirmation sounds identifying actual depression of any keys of a keyboard. The calculator includes a piezoelectric acoustic element which is responsive to key signals derived from a processor unit when any keys of the keyboard are manually operated. The calculator generates these sounds only for a fixed period of time starting with actual depression of any keys. The processor unit generates key-strobe signals which are input to the keys on the keyboard. Each key has its own key-strobe signal, and, when depressed, the signal is passed to the processor uniquely identifying each key. The processor generates sound instruction signals indicative of normal and erroneous operational states in the calculator in accordance with the received key-strobe signals. An audible confirmation or alarm sound is then generated in accordance with the sound instruction signal.

摘要： An electronic calculator disclosed herein is comprised mainly of a multi-digit liquid crystal display unit, a mechanical contact type keyboard unit and a semiconductor circuit unit including a computation circuit, logical control circuit, storage circuit, program memory circuit, etc., these units being all incorporated on a single plate of electrically insulating material. One of a pair of spaced apart electrically insulating plates forming a capacity for the liquid crystal composition is of a length sufficient to support all the constitutional units, which has two major surfaces one for supporting the keyboard unit and the other for supporting the semiconductor circuit unit. Connection between oppositely disposed keyboard unit and semiconductor circuit unit is accomplished by any conventional method, for example, multi-terminal connector, conductive material printing, through holes, wire bonding and so on.

摘要： Disclosed is an electronic calculator which has a thermal printing head or active printing area exposed to the ambient environment to enable printing in a stamp-like fashion. In the preferred form, the thermal printing head comprises a predetermined number of thermal printing units each unit having a plurality of segment-shaped resistors. More particularly, a metal layer of platinum, nickel-chrome alloy, etc., is deposited in accordance with a segment configuration on a glass-glazed substrate of beryllium oxide. A current flow through the metal segments will cause the generation of heat therein which makes a clearly distinct record on a heat-sensitive paper.

摘要： An improvement on a display system which displays multi-digit numeral information on a time-shared basis in response to application of bipolarity alternating voltage to liquid crystal display units. Each of the liquid crystal display units has a common electrode actuated by one of sequentially phase-shifted timing signals and a predetermined number of segment electrodes actuated by segment signals of which combinations are representative of the multi-digit numeral information to be displayed. Particularly, in the present system, visual display is provided over successive repetition of first and second display cycles in a manner that timing selection for the respective common electrodes is effected with one polarity or phase during the first display cycle and subsequently timing selection for the same is effected with the opposite polarity or phase during the second display cycle. This provides a considerable improvement in life time and immunity from blinking information caused due to the decreasing of display frequency.
