Abstract: A packet destined for a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) network is received at a wireless station from a user device. A serving gateway (SGW) receives the packet from the wireless station via an S1U GTP tunnel and assigns an uplink S1U General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) Tunneling Protocol (GTP) tunnel endpoint identifier (TEID) to the packet. The SGW performs a network address translation (NAT) function on the packet based on the uplink S1U GTP TEID assigned to the packet to form a translated packet. The SGW transmits the translated packet to the MEC network.

Abstract: Systems described herein provide techniques for establishing and modifying user plane communications sessions between Long-Term Evolution (“LTE”) User Equipment (“UE”) devices, connected to LTE base stations, and a Fifth Generation (“5G”) core network. An LTE-5G Interworking function (“LTE-5G IWF”) may logically generate a virtual 5G UE and/or 5G base station, map a LTE UE to the virtual 5G UE, and cause the establishment of a Protocol Data Unit (“PDU”) Session, at the 5G core network, with the virtual 5G UE. The LTE-5G IWF may also maintain a 5G context, including the information of the virtual 5G UE and/or 5G base station, based on the actual location of the LTE UE and/or an LTE base station to which the LTE UE is connected. The LTE-5G IWF may further update this context, including location information, when the LTE UE is handed over from one LTE base station to another.

Abstract: A network device receives, from a congestion controller, traffic policy information associated with a data stream between a sender and a receiver, where the traffic policy information includes a maximum round trip delay time (RTT) and a maximum throughput rate (Rate). The network device obtains a receiver advertised window size (RWND) for the receiver for the data stream. The network device modifies the RWND based on the RTT and the Rate to produce a modified receiver window size (RWND′) and sends the RWND′ to the sender for use in controlling congestion on the data stream between the sender and the receiver.

Abstract: A system described herein may maintain a set of Quality of Service (“QoS”) parameters associated with a particular User Equipment (“UE”). The system may provide the set of QoS parameters to a policy element of a wireless network, wherein the wireless network establishes a first dedicated bearer with the particular UE, which may be associated with the set of QoS parameters. The system may receive, after the first dedicated bearer is established, information indicating an occurrence of a particular event associated with the particular UE, and may output, to a policy element of the wireless network, a request to establish a second dedicated bearer with the particular UE. The wireless network may establish the second dedicated bearer with the particular UE, which may be associated with the set of QoS parameters.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide an application function and interface for a Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF) to receive, from User Equipment (UE) devices, user data for edge applications. An NWDAF receives an analytics request for user analytics for an edge application and sends, to an Edge Analytics Engine (EAE) associated with an edge location, a data request based on the analytics request. The EAE receives user data from an Edge Enabler Client (EEC) on the UE device that is connected to the edge location. The EAE forwards the user data to the network device. The NWDAF receives the user data responsive to the analytics request and generates an analytics report based on the user data.

Abstract: Systems and method are provided for a temporary network slice usage barring service within a core network. A network device in the core network receives a slice barring information message for an application function (AF). The slice barring information message includes a unique subscriber identifier associated with a user equipment (UE) device to be barred from a network slice and indicates a barring expiration time. The network device stores barring parameters based on the slice barring information message. The barring parameters include a slice identifier associated with the AF, the unique subscriber identifier, and the barring expiration time. The network device sends a barring instruction message to another network device associated with the network slice. The barring instruction message includes the unique subscriber identifier and the barring expiration time. The other network device enforces temporary barring of the UE device from the network slice based on the barring instruction message.

Abstract: A computer device may include a memory storing instructions and processor configured to execute the instructions to host a network function container that implements a microservice for a network function in a wireless communications network, wherein the network function container is deployed by a container orchestration platform; host a service proxy container associated with the network function container, wherein the service proxy container is deployed by the container orchestration platform; and configure the hosted service proxy container to apply a wireless network policy to the microservice for the network function. The processor may be further configured to intercept messages associated with the microservice for the network function using the configured service proxy container; and apply the wireless network policy to the intercepted messages using the configured service proxy container.
