摘要: An electrically operated drawing system for drawing and undrawing curtains includes an electric motor, a clutch having a solenoid, a rotation detector for detecting rotation of the electric motor, an operating switch for outputting command signals, and a control logic circuit. The control logic circuit controls the rotation of the motor and the activation of the clutch. The clutch is used to operatively engaged the rotating motor with the curtains to thereby draw and undraw the curtains. The clutch includes a first spur gear drivable by the electric motor and a second spur gear operatively connected to the curtains. The clutch further includes an arm pivotally mounted to the second spur gear and a solenoid connected to the arm. A movement of the solenoid cause a movement of the arm to operatively engage the first and second spur gears.

摘要: Plasmid vectors are provided that carry complementary DNA (cDNA) clones coding for polypeptides exhibiting mammalian multi-lineage growth cell activity. One of these polypeptides is 166 amino acids in length, including a potential leader sequence of about 19 amino acids. The cDNA is derived from messenger RNA isolated from a mouse T-cell line after activation with concanavalin A. The cDNA was cloned by incorporation into a plasmid vector, which was then transformed into E. coli. The plasmid vector also contains DNA segments from the SV40 virus, permitting expression of the cDNA after transfection into a mammalian host cell, such as monkey COS-7 cells.

摘要: A printer has a record unit including a record in the form of an endless belt which moves in one direction, a charger for charging the record, an exposure unit for forming an electrostatic latent image on the charged record, a developing unit for converting the latent image into a visual image, a sheet feeder for feeding a record sheet from a stack, as separated one by one, and feeding it into close contact with the record which carries the visual image, a transfer unit for transferring the visual image from the record onto the record sheet, a fixing unit for fixing the transferred visual image on the record sheet, and a delivery unit of delivering the fixed record sheet out of the printer. As a characteristic of the invention, the record unit and the developer unit are detachably mounted together and capable of being slid out of the printer for servicing. The other elements of the printer are disposed around the record unit in a generally U-shaped configuration, so that the record/developer unit can be slid into or out of the hollow portion defined by the U-shaped configuration.

摘要: An apparatus for cleaning a recording medium is provided. The cleaning apparatus of the present invention is applicable to an electrophotographic or electrographic recording system. The present cleaning apparatus comprises a toner cleaner for removing residual toner particles from the surface of a recording medium, a counter member disposed on the opposite side of the recording medium with respect to the toner cleaner, and a mechanism for urging at least either one of the toner cleaner and the counter member against the other. Accordingly, the recording medium is kept in pressure contact with the toner cleaner so that cleaning of the recording medium may be carried out at upmost efficiency at all times. Besides, due to the provision of the urging mechanism, the alignment of parts is made less severe in assemblage of the apparatus, thus facilitating the manufacturing process.

摘要: An original document for facsmile transmission or the like is fed over a horizontal transparent platen by rollers for scanning. A light source illuminates the document and a mirror reflects a light image of a linear portion of the document perpendicular to the direction of movement horizontally to a converging lens. The light image from the lens is reflected upwardly by another mirror onto the light receiving surface of a linear photosensor array. The light receiving surface of the array faces downwardly, minimizing accumulation of dust thereon. A light baffle in the form of a box is provided between the first mirror and converging lens and is formed with apertures for the light image to pass therethrough. A scan drive and amplifier circuit for the array is mounted closely adjacent thereto while a signal processing circuit comprising a quantization means is mounted on the box and electrically connected to the drive unit. The various units of the apparatus are individually detachable for ease of servicing. The arrangement of the various units prevents heat and stray light from the light source from reaching and affecting the array.
