摘要： A preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises computer-implemented methods for providing user assistance in biomachine design that, first, retrieve one or more digitally-represented candidate design items stored in a bioengineering knowledge base by translating requirements provided for a biomachine according to a bioengineering domain model into queries to the knowledge base for design items capable of implementing the biomachine according to the domain model; then second, construct one or more digitally-represented candidate biomachines from the candidate design items by arranging part information represented in the candidate design items according to a selected structure, and next evaluate the candidate biomachines according to bioengineering operability knowledge associated with the candidate design items, wherein operability knowledge associated with a design item specifies requirements for that item to inter-operate with other design items. The methods may backtrack. If at least one candidate biomachine has not been satisfactorily evaluated, the methods backtracking to one or more of these steps. The invention further encompasses variations of these methods, systems and program products performing these methods, data products including digital representations of design knowledge used by these methods, data products with digital representations of designed biomachines. Also encompassed are further steps of constructing or synthesizing biomachines along with the actual biomachines themselves.

摘要： An illuminated electric toothbrush comprising a light emitting diode emitting light having a flux density of at least about 30 mW/cm2. An illuminated electric toothbrush having this level of flux density can result in an oral care benefit such as whitening. When this toothbrush is used within the oral cavity the heat generated by the toothbrush remains low enough that the surface temperature of the teeth remains below about 43° C. The flux density of at least about 30 mW/cm2 can be achieved by overpowering the light emitting diode, by using a light emitting diode having at least about two dices, and by providing a pulsed or non-continuous current to the LED which results in a pulsing or non-continuous light.

Movement of the drive shaft and/or the movable bristle holder results in movement of at least a portion of the one or more bristles disposed on the static portion of the toothbrush head.

摘要： A method wherein a strip of flat plastic carriers having openings therein for application to groups of containers is moved from a source to a feed drum for delivering a strip of carriers to an applicator apparatus, a trough interposed between the source and the feed drum. Electrical heaters are provided beneath the trough. A strip of carriers is moved through the trough such as to heat the carriers from the underside thereof. The temperature of the heaters is controlled such that the strip of carriers is conditioned to compensate for ambient temperature.

摘要： A low-dropout regulator with a single-transistor-control providing improved transient response and stability is disclosed. The single-transistor-control provides a dynamic resistance at the output of the regulator for minimizing undershoot and overshoot, and hence improves transient response. Since the single-control transistor reduces the output resistance of the regulator, the output pole is pushed to a sufficiently high frequency without affecting stability. Therefore, the limited choice of combinations of the output capacitance and its equivalent-series-resistance is substantially relaxed.
