Abstract:
A cache controller sits in parallel with a microprocessor bus and includes a tag RAM for associatively searching a directory for cache data-array addresses. Two normal address latches are provided to capture a cycle address in case the current cycle is extended by a pending tag RAM access. At any time, except when the next cycle has started, but during which the current cycle is in progress, one latch is open to an input buffer such that the input address is latched by that latch. The other latch holds the current cycle address until the cycle ends. The current cycle can be extended with snoops. The current cycle address has to be maintained as long as the cycle is still in progress. In the meantime, the external cycle might have ended and a next cycle started. The second address latch is used to capture the address corresponding to this new cycle. As signal selects which of the two latches will supply the address via a MUX to the tag RAM. Logic switches the two input address latches so that the tag RAM sees a constant address for the duration of a cycle while at the same time a new cycle address can be received.
Abstract:
One embodiment of a system of present invention includes means for obtaining an image from a requester, means for obtaining contact information for vouching people, whom requester identifies as having personal knowledge of the requester, and means for sending an electronic message to the vouching people, with a link to an image lineup. The image lineup contains the image obtained from the requester and other images. The system further includes means for receiving a selection choice from the vouching people, identifying whether the image in the image lineup depicts the requester, and means for calculating a statistical rating of a likelihood that the image obtained from the requester depicts him/her.

Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention envisions providing requester with an application for a mobile device equipped with a built-in digital photo camera. The application controls the camera and prevents alterations to an image taken with the camera. The unaltered image of a photo ID is transmitted from the mobile device to the verifier's server computer. The image of the photo ID may further be used to verify the requester by comparing the image to the photographs from other sources.
Abstract:
A system and method for exactly estimating a volume of traffic is provided when packets are transferred within the network. The system and method receive data packets from clients through a plurality of router-for-clients, and creating a flow information packet for estimating information about a flow, transfer the data packets and the created flow information packet to the destination router-for-client via a router-for-relay, calculate information about the traffic of a flow at the destination router-for-client through the flow information packets transferred from the router-for-clients, and estimate a volume of the traffic. Thus, the system and method can estimate the volume of the traffic on the network with respect to the aggregated flow defined by the router pair connected to the terminal or the external network when the traffic is actually introduced into the network, instead of the flows of each terminal and each destination.
Abstract:
A hybrid channel assignment method comprising the steps of negotiating among routers to select one router to act as a central server; collecting, at the selected router, information on an entire network transmitted from the other routers, and assigning channels based upon the information on the entire network; and reassigning channels of respective routers based upon dynamically-changing traffic characteristics. The hybrid channel assignment method can assign channels using both centralized processing and distributed processing in order to ensure optimally correct channel assignment consistent with present traffic characteristics. This as a result can prevent network resources from being wasted and also increase network capacity, thereby optimizing effective use of the network resources.
Abstract:
A method and a system for interworking with a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) network in a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) terminal. According to the method, a relay station for connecting the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) terminal with the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) network sets a connection with the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) network through an initialization process. A user authentication with the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) terminal is performed by the relay station in compliance with a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) protocol. A user authentication with a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) network Access Control Router (ACR) is performed in compliance with a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) network protocol by the relay station in place of the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) terminal.
Abstract:
One embodiment of a method of present invention provides for collecting personal information from a requester, obtaining a digital copy of a photo ID from the requester, isolating requester's photograph from the photo ID, obtaining images from computer network information sources, comparing requester's photograph with the images obtained from computer network information sources, and calculating a statistical rating of a likelihood that requester's photograph and images obtained from said one or more computer network information sources display the same person.
Abstract:
A method, system, and medium of providing various types of broadcast services such as a record, a summary, a navigation and a real-time event service with respect to a broadcast content, utilizing a home server, according to a user's request. A broadcast service providing method includes: storing broadcast summary data, navigation data and real-time event data which is generated by analyzing received broadcast data according to a broadcast record request from a user's portable device, in a database; and providing the user's portable device with a streaming service with respect to the stored broadcast summary data, the navigation data and the real-time event data, according to a summary selection request from the user's portable device.
Abstract:
In a multi-radio mesh network system supporting at least two different wireless communication standards and a method of controlling the same, a wireless access switching module determines whether user data en-queued in the queue of a first wireless link and retained on standby cannot be transmitted. The wireless access switching module switches the user data, en-queued in the queue of the first wireless link and retained on standby, to an available second wireless link. The wireless access switching module changes a frame structure according to different wireless access techniques. When access is possible through the second wireless link, a forwarder searches for a local neighbor directly connected to a transmitting node and a receiving node, and forwards the user data. According to the invention, and in contrast to conventional techniques, available multi-wireless resources can be used more efficiently, flexibly and optimally up to the last moment, thereby reducing re-transmission and packet drop. Thus, each hop supports fast data forwarding so as to improve network performance.
