Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a decision unit configured to determine whether or not print image data includes copy-forgery-inhibited-pattern image data. Based on a decision result of the decision unit regarding whether or not the print image data includes the copy-forgery-inhibited-pattern image data, a processing unit of the image processing apparatus is configured to determine whether first compression processing is to be performed or second compression processing is to be performed and apply the decided compression processing to the print image data.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses, as an example, an information processing apparatus for downloading an expansion module for a print driver from a server apparatus for setup, including: a reception unit for receiving a program from the server apparatus; a determination unit for determining whether the reception unit receives the expansion module for the print driver and a license management program which is an expansion program for the print driver; an obtaining unit for obtaining, in response to a determination by the determination unit that the reception unit receives the expansion module for the print driver and the license management program, by calling the received license management program, license information indicating a license status of the expansion program; and a decision unit for deciding whether a use of the expansion program is permitted in the information processing apparatus by using the obtained license information.
Abstract:
The invention enables people to easily identify a printout image even in the case where the printout image is printed with a tint block image added thereon. More specifically, a physical page that is a printable area of printing paper is divided into areas, an intended document/image is printed in each of these divided areas (logical pages), and a tint block image is printed only in an area that is in this physical page but does not belong to any of the logical pages. Using a fact that a margin is produced in the so-called N-up printing, the tint block image is printed in this margin. Thereby, the tint block image can be printed in a location that will not interfere with whatever printout image to be printed.
Abstract:
A printing control apparatus is provided which can produce an appropriate copy-forgery-inhibited pattern image by adding a monochrome copy-forgery-inhibited pattern even if monochrome mode printing is performed in the condition in which a color copy-forgery-inhibited pattern is set. When the monochrome mode printing is performed in the condition in which the color copy-forgery-inhibited pattern is set, and if the copy-forgery-inhibited pattern color is output with its color unchanged, the color is not converted into 100% black. Considering this, when a forced monochrome mode is selected, even if the user's setting for the copy-forgery-inhibited pattern is color, the color is changed to monochrome (black) before output. If the designated copy-forgery-inhibited pattern setting is for color, the designated copy-forgery-inhibited pattern setting is changed to the monochrome copy-forgery-inhibited pattern setting so that the printing processing is performed in the monochrome mode using the designated copy-forgery-inhibited pattern setting.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, a user can properly acquire a desired print product with a few procedures in front of an output device. An information processing apparatus includes a print job output unit configured to output a print job, wherein, if the print job output unit receives a request for pull printing from an output device related apparatus for a first time, the print job output unit compares a capacity of an output target device with a print setting, selects a print job including a print setting matching with the capacity of the output target device from stored print jobs, and outputs the selected print job, and if the print job output unit receives a request for pull printing from the output device related apparatus consecutively, the print job output unit outputs the stored print jobs.
Abstract:
A print control apparatus that can improve the performance and quality of a printer driver and a Win32 application and can improve usability for users. A Win32 application that operates on the print control apparatus handles print settings as a print ticket in XML format, and a printer driver that operates on the apparatus manages print settings as a DEVMODE structure in binary format. A conversion process between the print ticket and the DEVMODE structure is carried out in a submodule. The submodule constructs a public portion of the DEVMODE structure based on the print ticket and incorporates the print ticket into a free space in a private portion of the DEVMODE structure. Further, the submodule extracts the print ticket incorporated in the DEVMODE private portion.
Abstract:
In order to allow any device to use a graphics device interface (GDI) driver without having to modify it once the GDI driver has been developed, the GDI driver is configured to create a spool format in a next-generation print path (NGPP) graphics engine specification and to convert drawing data in the spool format in the NGPP graphics engine specification into a page description language (PDL) by using an NGPP driver.
