Abstract: Systems and methods for performing three-dimensional measurements are disclosed herein. An example system includes an imaging system with a scan platter defining a spatial region within which an object may be imaged. The imaging system has first optics configured to image a first field of view of the imaging system, and second optics configured to image a second field of view of the imaging system. The second field of view spatially overlaps at least partially with the first field of view to form an overlap region, with the overlap region being a three-dimensional volume extending along a length of the scan platter. The system may further include a processor configured to analyze images of the first and second fields of view and determine at least one common point between the first and second images. The processor then further determines three-dimensional information of an object from the determined common point.

Abstract: A system is disclosed that includes an image sensor, a depth sensor, and at least one processor. The image sensor acquires images within a first field-of-view. The depth sensor includes a plurality of photosensitive cells that acquires distance information within a second field-of-view. The second field-of-view at least partially overlaps the first field-of-view. The at least one processor is programmed to transition from a first mode of operation to a second mode of operation in response to satisfaction of a specified criteria based on object information associated with the distance information for an object within the second field-of-view.

Abstract: Indicia readers with multiple imaging assemblies and dichroic mirrors are disclosed herein. In an example, an indicia reader like a barcode reader includes a first (2D) imaging assembly operable to sense light in the 700 nm or below wavelength range, a second (3D) imaging assembly operable to sense light in the above 700 nm wavelength range, and a dichroic mirror. The mirror is situated such that (i) light that is received by the first imaging assembly is received from a product scanning region and is reflected by the mirror such that its path is redirected towards and the first imaging assembly and (ii) light that is received by the second imaging assembly is received from the product scanning region by passing through the mirror toward the second imaging assembly.

Abstract: Systems and methods for decoding multiple indicia are provided. An example includes an indicia reading device comprising an imaging assembly configured to capture 2D image data of an environment appearing in a first FOV, the first FOV directed at a product scanning region; a depth sensor assembly including at least one depth sensor, wherein the at least one depth senor is configured to capture 3D image data of an environment appearing in a second FOV, the second FOV at least partially overlapping the first FOV; a controller, having at least a processor and a memory, communicably coupled to the imaging assembly and depth sensor assembly. The memory stores computer-readable instructions which when executed by the processor causes the controller to take the following actions: analyze the 2D image data to identify a quantity of indicia present in the 2D image data; analyze the 3D image data to identify a quantity of items present in the 3D image data; and, responsive to the quantity of the indicia present in the 2D image data being equal to or greater than the quantity of items present in the 3D image data, transmit payload data of at least some of the indicia present in the 2D image data to a host.
