Abstract:
A device and method for removing heat from an object by spraying a cooling agent is disclosed. A cooling casing or a heat sink is mounted to the object. A spray nozzle is arranged to spray the cooling agent onto the cooling casing or the heat sink from a reservoir. The temperature of the object is detected. A controller receives the temperature and issues a signal to drive the spray nozzle when the detected temperature exceeds a predetermined upper temperature limit. The cooling agent is sprayed onto the cooling casing or the heat sink and evaporates by absorbing heat from the cooling casing or the heat sink thereby removing heat from the object. A fan is selectively provided for generating air flows to expel the evaporated cooling agent and thus enhancing heat removal from the object.
Abstract:
A selective quick boot system and method. The selective quick boot system includes a control module and a processing module with an event table. The control module receives a quick signal, provides power enabling the processing module, an event code corresponding to the quick signal is then transferred to the processing module. The processing module compares the received event code to the event table to locate a corresponding item, and drives the device recorded as the corresponding item and executes the associated application also recorded in the event table.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for utilizing software to implement hot key functions without an embedded controller. A keyboard with hot keys, a keyboard encoder and a software driver module utilizes a software solution to implement hot key switching and hot key functions in a computer system without an embedded controller, providing the same functionality as a computer system with embedded controller.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for integrating personal computer and electronic device functions. An input device, personal computer host, and encoder in turn integrate hardware, operating system, and application programs to provide personal computer and electronic device functions at the same time.
Abstract:
A transformer circuit for a power source having a first voltage level and a second voltage level. The first coil is coupled to the first voltage level at a terminal of the first coil to generate a first induced voltage by a first current. The demagnetization loop switch is coupled between another terminal of the first coil and the second voltage level to switch the first current according to a switching signal provided by an outside circuit. The demagnetization circuit is coupled between another terminal of the first coil and the first voltage level to consume the energy stored in the first coil when the demagnetization loop switch is turned off. The second coil is coupled to the second voltage level at a terminal of the second coil to generate a signal having a second induced voltage according to the first induced voltage.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for remote infrared power up of a computer system. An infrared remote controller issues a first signal, received by a keyboard encoder in the computer system, which generates a second signal accordingly. The second signal is received by a power control pin, which activates a power control chip. Finally, a power controller in the power control chip powers up the computer system.
Abstract:
A notebook computer with a sliding keyboard has the keyboard portion forming an independent keyboard module that mounts on slide rails located on two sides of the body. The keyboard module is laid flat on the body in normal conditions. When in use, the keyboard module may be slid to the edge of the body. The thickness of the body forms an elevation from the desktop surface to allow the keyboard module be raised to an angle to conform to ergonomics to facilitate user operations and to alleviate fatigue in the user's hands.
Abstract:
A method is provided to update firmware of a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader through a network system, wherein a management host issues an update message to a gateway through the network system, and then depending upon the location where reader firmware update data is stored, either the management host transmits the reader firmware update data through the gateway to each designated RFID reader, or the gateway directly transmits the reader firmware update data to each of the designated RFID readers. A microprocessor of the RFID reader stores the received reader firmware update data to a firmware data storage section of a memory unit thereof.
Abstract:
A shockproof assembly, preventing a flat storage device from shock damage, includes a housing, a bracket, and at least one first buffer. The housing has a bottom plate and a top plate coupled to each other correspondingly and covering the flat storage device. The bracket has a plurality of side blades extended along an extending direction, and the bracket is coupled the side wall of the flat storage device. A first buffer store space is defined among the side blades and the bottom plate of the housing. The first buffer is disposed in the first buffer store space and has a preset height for keeping a preset interval between the bottom face of the flat storage device and the bottom plate. Shock is absorbed by the first buffer during being transmitted to the flat storage device via the housing when the shockproof assembly is shaken.
