Abstract:
A moistening nozzle of a paper web comprises a frame (1) into which air and water are conducted. Inside the frame (1) there is arranged a water nozzle (2) wherewith water is conducted to an outlet of the moistening nozzle and an air nozzle wherewith air is correspondingly conducted to the outlet. The air nozzle (3) and the water nozzle (2) are arranged one within the other such that the air and the water form water mist that is blown out from the moistening nozzle. The air nozzle (3) is provided with an inner thread (10) that brings the air in swirling motion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a system for determining hysteresis of a process device in a process environment. The process comprises collecting (50) second-level sample data ys and us from control and measurement signals u and y of a control circuit. Minute mean values y(min) and u(min), which are stored in a database (52), are calculated from these second-level measurement values. The pairs suitable for hysteresis calculation are selected from the minute-level sample pairs um and ym according to a certain procedure. The pairs are also divided into two groups. Unsuitable pairs are rejected (57). Two characteristic curves (54) are calculated from the selected pairs (um, ym) for hysteresis calculation (55). The calculation (55) also includes a routine which evaluates the reliability of the identified hysteresis.
Abstract:
A method of blowing drying gas against a paper web, and an impingement dryer of a paper machine. Drying gas is blown with an impingement dryer comprising several profiling chambers in the cross-direction of a paper machine, the cross-profile of the paper web being controlled with the drying gas blown from the profiling chambers. Each profiling chamber blows drying gas to its own effect range. The impingement dryer further comprises a return air chamber and return air ducts such that drying gas blown against the paper web from the profiling chambers is returned into the return air chamber through the return air ducts in such a way that some of the effect of the drying gas blown from the profiling chamber is at least partly prevented from reaching the effective area of the adjacent profiling chamber.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system comprising: a process control network (3) having process equipment (2) connected thereto for receiving, through the process control network, control commands and for transmitting messages. To enable a high-security-level system to be achieved, wherein the state of a process can be established from an external communication network, the process control network (3) is connected to an external communication network (5) via a one-way data transfer device (12). The external communication network has storage equipment (6 to 8, 13) connected thereto, configured to store at least some of the information contained in the messages to be transmitted from the process control network (3) to the external communication network (5).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for arranging redundancy in a process control system comprising at least one client device, at least one data source and at least one server device providing data transfer between the client device and the data source. The method comprises arranging, for the client device, at least two parallel logical connections for transferring substantially the same data between at least one data source and the client device. At the client device, property information on data units transferred via different logical connections is checked, the client device being provided with predetermined order criteria for the property information. At the client device, property information on parallel data units transferred via different logical connections is compared. Data units delivered via the logical connection having, according to the predetermined order criteria, the best property information are selected for the use of one or more applications processing the data units.
Abstract:
The subject of the invention is a method and a device for measuring of solid matter particles of pulp suspension, in which method a sample of pulp suspension is separated and scanned and the amount and the quality of solids are examined from the picture. According to the method the sample separated from a pulp suspension with know consistency of dry substances is fed at known feeding speed onto the wire, which is an endless loop and moves at know speed, and where water is removed with a drying device from the sample, and which transports the sample mainly as a constant matt to a camera device, where the sample is scanned and on the basis of this picture and information about the feeding speed of the sample, moving speed of the wire and the consistency information the absolute and/or relative amount and quality of solids are measured.
Abstract:
A method for guiding web patching, using a re-reeler, in connection with a paper machine and an off-line coating machine, in which method a defect map of the web is created on the paper machine, to show deviations some of which are shown on the coating machine, using selected criteria, to the operator, the deviations being patched using the re-reeler, guided by the defect map and preset patching rules. On the coating machine, the virtual location of the selected deviations is monitored through the coating machine and if a possible web break occurs, a deviation is localized relative to the web break, and on the basis of this monitoring, feedback is provided to the patching rules of the re-reeler, in order to optimize them.
Abstract:
In a diagnosis method of a control valve, position data representing a position of a control valve, and pressure data representing a pressure difference over a valve actuator, and optionally travel direction of the control valve, is measured during online operation of the control valve. The position data and the pressure difference data are processed to contain data around starting points of a plurality of individual travel movements of the control valve during normal online operation of the control valve. Finally, a valve signature graph of the control valve is determined based on the processed position and pressure difference data, collected at a plurality of points along the travel range of the control valve during online operation of the control valve.
