    Abstract: An air-cap nozzle 103b for discharging an atomising air jet 101b for atomising paint from a spray gun, the air cap nozzle comprising a tip surface having an atomizing air outlet 100b and a rim region 102b surrounding the outlet. The rim region 102b comprises a continuous serrated portion formed by a plurality of protrusions 104 that protrude axially outward from the rim region 100b of the tip surface. The protrusions 104 are separated by valleys 105 configured to permit entrainment of ambient air by the atomising air jet 101b, the entrained ambient air being drawn through the valleys. The permitted entrainment provides mixing between the entrained ambient air and the atomising air jet 101b.

    Abstract: A spray gun includes first and second air outlet channel arrangements. At least one parameter, in particular pressure, volume flow and/or flow speed of air flowing through the first arrangement and at least one parameter, in particular pressure, volume flow and/or flow speed of air flowing through the second arrangement can be controlled independently of one another in an open and/or closed loop manner. The spray gun also includes a third air outlet channel arrangement and at least one parameter, in particular pressure, volume flow and/or flow speed of air flowing through the third arrangement can be controlled in an open and/or closed loop manner independently of at least one parameter of the first arrangement, and/or independently of at least one parameter of the second arrangement. Thus, three different types of air (atomisation, shaping, and transporting) can each be controlled independently providing increased flexibility in use for different painting tasks.

    Abstract: A nozzle arrangement for a spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, has at least one paint nozzle and an air cap. The paint nozzle has at least one outlet opening for the material to be sprayed and the air cap has at least one central opening which is bounded by at least one wall. The at least one wall forms a gap with at least one part of the paint nozzle, and a forward part of the paint nozzle has at least an inner face, an outer face and an end face. The end face of the paint nozzle encloses, at least in certain regions, an angle of greater than 90° or an angle of less than 90° with an outer face or an inner face of the paint nozzle. In the nozzle arrangements, the back-pressure counter to the outflow of the material to be sprayed is lower than in prior art nozzles. A spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, having such a nozzle arrangement is also disclosed.
