摘要: An apparatus for cleaning a selected surface, usually fluid-wetted or submerged, has a membrane element. The membrane element comprises a lower surface and an upper surface. The membrane element has a means associated with the upper surface which generates a force which, when in motion, causes the lower surface and the selected surface to be pressed more closely together, particularly embodied as a "wing" cross-sectional profile for added cleaning force and structural support. The lower surface is often textured to create and control fluid motion related inter-surfacial attractive and fluid shearing forces used in the cleaning motion. A perimeter scraping edge surrounds at least a portion of the membrane element. An elongated handle, usually a float, is affixed to the membrane element upper surface. In addition to a slightly concave outer region of the lower surface, the membrane element lower surface may have a concave central region and one or more fluid release apertures piercing the membrane element.

摘要: An apparatus and method for continuously cleaning fish screens located in wetland diversions which are subject to tidal fluctuations, as well as in river and stream diversions, provides a brush or wiper member attached to a flotation device to clean the fish screen continuously. The apparatus can utilize conventional power where available, or utilize available and renewable energy sources such as tidal influx, solar or wind power, as well as gravity water flow.

摘要: A device for removal of sediment particles from the water in a cultivating tank for aquatic organisms. The cultivating tank has a cylindrical outlet connected to an outlet tube located on the vertical axis of symmetry of the cultivating tank. A plate is spacedly positioned above the upper edge of an annular chamber formed at the bottom of the tank around the outlet to form a slotted opening into the annular chamber. The annular chamber has a separate outlet formed in or near the bottom for carrying away particles accumulated within the chamber. The portion of the cylindrical outlet near the upper area of the chamber includes a plurality of orifices arranged to collect and withdraw relatively clear water. In an other embodiment, the cultivating tank having a flat bottom can have a cone shaped inwardly tapering section surrounding the cylindrical outlet which forms the annular chamber. The tapering section rises inwardly to a point near a spaced circular plate so as to form a slotted opening to the chamber for removing the particles from the water. The same outlet arrangements may also be used for monitoring separate tanks within a zonal divided tank. In this way, the particle count in each zone can be monitored. The monitoring of the particular concentration within the tank is used for controlling feeding, water provision and oxygen provision for the aquatic organisms.

摘要: A procedure for feeding fish, such as rainbow trout, in a tank is disclosed. This procedure utilizes a suction sweeper on the bottom of the tank. By administering a predetermined amount of food to the tank and measuring how much food is not eaten by the fish, it is possible to reduce the amount of excess food. In addition, by cleaning the tank immediately prior to feeding and prompt recovery of the excess food, it is possible to recycle excess food without suffering from contamination, bacterial degradation or other unhealthy effects.

摘要: This invention relates to an internal multi-component accessory for tall aquariums (those whose depth makes the aquatic life inaccessible and cleaning of the inside walls of the aquarium impractical by normal means). The objective of this accessory is to filter the water, clean the inside walls of the aquarium, provide heat and light, while providing for the transfer of air into the aquarium. It is a further objective of this accessory to provide convenient access to all fish and plant life within the aquarium by floating from its position on the bottom of the aquarium to the top bringing up all fish and plant life as well as gravel (filtration medium). The accessory is a plastic container abutted to a sponge between two rigid plastic plates, both of which are designed to conform to the inside of the aquarium. The container holds gravel in its top outer shell while providing a bottom inner core or pocket for trapping air. The sponge with its two plastic plates has a heating and lighting unit in its center.

摘要: A nozzle pipe has upper and lower guide rings to guide the nozzle down a pot line to the crab pot. A hydraulic pump on the pipe discharges a jet of sea water to wash away drifted sand which anchors the crab pot to the sea bottom. The pump is driven by a hydraulic motor powered by a hydraulic system on a ship whereby the hydraulic motor circuit is not affected by the sea water pressure.
