摘要: Disclosed is a compact roller hemming device capable of performing a hemming process with respect to various works. Specifically disclosed is a roller hemming device for hemming a work, which includes rotary shafts rotating on axes thereof, and lower dies and lower dies on which the corresponding work is placed. The lower dies and the lower dies are arranged on outer circumferential parts of the rotary shafts at predetermined intervals. The rotary shafts rotate so that one each of the lower dies and the lower dies is selected depending on a type of the work to be hemmed.

摘要: A plate rolling apparatus, for rolling a plate to form a pipe which may be tapered, a gripper rib (14) on the mandrel (11) for receiving the edge of a flat plate. The mandrel (11) being mounted between support frame ends (24, 25) and on a single pressure roller (15) mounted beneath the mandrel (11) and adapted to contact the surface of the plate and apply a squeezing force against the plate and mandrel (11) during a rolling operation, the pressure roll (15) being laterally movable relative to the center-line of the mandrel depending upon the location of the gripper rib (14) in the region of the roller (15) so as not to foul the gripper rib (14) yet applying said squeezing force to said plate as required. A mandrel (11) having an adjustable taper angle is disclosed as an adjustable mandrel support member (2, 25) and mandrel journal (26) to accommodate variable mandrel diameters and angles or taper.

摘要: Plane, rectangular sheets (10) are moved through between a driven bending roll (32) and a plurality of back-up rolls (34) and are bent round the bending roll (32) by these rolls and a plurality of pressure rolls (52, 56) disposed behind the bending roll (32) and back-up rolls (34). The almost completely rounded sheet (10) is bent resiliently away from the bending roll (32) by a deflecting member (62) as a result of which the front edge (10a) of the sheet is prevented from re-entering the gap between the bending roll (32) and the back-up rolls (34) before the rear edge (10b) of the sheet has travelled through this gap. Then the deflecting member (62) is moved back into its position of rest so that the front region of the sheet (10) springs back in the direction of the bending roll (32) and as a result is again gripped by the bending roll (32) and the back-up rolls (34) and moved through between them. When the front edge (10a) of the sheet (10) has reached the gap between the last two pressure rolls (56), all the pressure rolls (52, 56) are lifted. Then the sheet (10) is conveyed from a rounding station (31) to a positioning station (69). The sheet (10) continues to be rotated by the bending roll (32) until its front edge (10a) is arrested by catching levers (68). The rounded sheet (10) is now stripped axially off the bending roll (32).

摘要: A sheet metal forming apparatus is shown with a plurality of various size and shaped rollers. The rollers are substantially parallel with a first end being open, and a second end being rotatably anchored and extending through a stationary bearing housing. A slot is provided in each roller along its longitudinal axis for receiving metal to be bent therein. After inserting metal into the slot of one of the rollers, the roller is turned by a handle on the second end. The roller is pre-indexed to turn a predetermined amount so that the metal is bent against an adjacent roller through a fixed arc. Subsequently, the bent metal may slide off the open end of the roller. A small roller may have a supporting bar extending parallel thereto with a supporting plate on the end thereof slideably receiving the first end of the small roller for additional strength. By a small longitudinal movement of the small roller, and pivoting the small roller in the stationary bearing housing, sheet metal bent thereon may be slid off the open first end.

摘要: A cylinder-forming method and apparatus is disclosed in which a pre-cut blank of strip material is positioned against a locating abutment and clamped within a rotatable mandrel. As the mandrel is rotated, first and second guide means form the blank to the periphery of the mandrel with flattened end portions being formed on the blank adjacent an end gap. Gripping means seize the blank before unclamping the mandrel, and thereafter transfer the formed blank with its gap in a known predetermined position into the jaws of an electric flash welder wherein the ends of the blank are joined by welding.
