摘要: A glass melting tank comprising an elongated tank for containing molten glass, said tank having a feeding end at which material is fed into the tank, a working region from which molten glass is taken from the tank, and a refining region between the feeding end and the working region, a hollow fluid cooled pipe extending across at least part of the width of the tank in a region adjacent the junction of the refining and working regions. The pipe may be reciprocated back and forth across the tank and the pipe may have a wave shape. In this way some horizontal transverse displacement of molten glass is effected.

摘要: The present disclosure provides an apparatus for eliminating a heterogeneous glass present in the top surface of a molten glass effectively, and a melting furnace and a glass manufacturing apparatus comprising the same. The apparatus for eliminating a heterogeneous glass according to one aspect of the present disclosure comprises a storage bath having an inlet and an outlet to receive a molten glass fed into the inlet and to discharge the received molten glass through the outlet, and an evacuating opening formed on the top of the storage bath, the evacuating opening allowing the received molten glass to overflow; a first gate being mounted close to the outlet of the storage bath to adjust an open area, thereby controlling the flow rate of the molten glass to be discharged through the outlet; and a second gate being mounted close to the inlet of the storage bath to control the height of the molten glass received in the storage bath at the section in which the evacuating opening is formed.

摘要: A laminate fusion draw apparatus including: a core isopipe having a first core melter; a clad isopipe having a clad melter; a first core down comer between the core melter and the core isopipe; and a second clad down comer between the clad melter and the clad isopipe, the second clad down comer having an independently adjustable linear and horizontal position with respect to a fixed horizontal position of the first down comer, and the core melter and the clad melter are linearly moveable for relative movement in the same or opposite horizontal direction, as described herein. Also disclosed is a method of using the apparatus where the first core down comer remains substantially centered or concentric on the first inlet tube, and the second clad down comer remains substantially centered or concentric on the second inlet tube.

摘要: An ultrasonic transducer assembly includes an ultrasonic transducer, an ultrasonic booster, an ultrasonic probe, and a booster cooling unit. The ultrasonic booster is connected to the ultrasonic transducer to amplify acoustic energy generated by the ultrasonic transducer and transfer the amplified acoustic energy to the ultrasonic probe. A seated end of the ultrasonic probe is positioned in a probe seat of the ultrasonic booster. The booster cooling unit is positioned to regulate the temperature of the probe seat of the ultrasonic booster such that the assembly supports a temperature dependent press-fit engagement of the seated end of the ultrasonic probe and the probe seat of the ultrasonic booster. The temperature dependent press-fit engagement is such that the seated end of the ultrasonic probe can be reversibly moved in and out of the probe seat at an elevated temperature THOT and is fixed in the probe seat at room temperature TCOLD.
