The housing further includes a combustible medium interface that is in fluid communication with the high pressure combustor, which is configured and arranged to provide repeated ignition cycles that include a combustion cycle that ignites the combustible medium and a fuel delivery cycle that delivers the combustible medium to the combustor, wherein pressure resulting from the combustion cycle forces the injection fluid out an injection port to cause fracturing in a portion of the earth around the wellbore.

    摘要: A particle mixture useful for estimating the locations of rock fractures in rock includes a mixture of particles of proppant with particles of an energetic material having a size, shape, and density that are about the same as for the particles of proppant. Particles of proppant and of an energetic material having the same desired sizes and shapes of the proppant may be obtained by collecting those particles that pass through a sieve of a chosen size but not through a sieve of the next smaller size. The location of rock fractures that contain proppant can be estimated by sending the particle mixture into fractured rock, allowing the energetic particles to release their energy, and afterward estimating the locations in the rock where the energy was released from the particles, thereby providing the locations of fractures in the rock that contain proppant.

Prior to a final cure, the compositions are extrudable. The di-isocyanate monomers tend to produce tough, rubbery materials while polyfunctional monomers (i.e. having more than two isocyanate groups) tend to form rigid products. The extrudable form of the composition may be used in a variety of applications including rock fracturing.

    摘要: This patent application discloses method and apparatus to cut an extended slot connecting a well to a substantial cross section of a desired producing formation whereby material can flow freely between the formation and the wellbore and at least partially overcome the flow limitations of low permeability formations without the environmental issues associated with hydraulic fracturing. It is further disclosed that the connection between said slot and the formation may be further enhanced by explosive or combustive processes that rapidly generate gas pressure within the large surface area of the slot, thereby changing its characteristics and forcing open additional fractures into the cross section of formation exposed to the slot. The method may significantly increase the recoverable percentage of natural gas from low permeability deposits such as shale and coal.
