When the day adjustment knob is pulled out, a set of gears are disengaged, allowing the day hand to be adjusted with that knob without affecting the other hands. Then, when the set of gears are reengaged, the time adjustment knob can be utilized to set the time of day. In order to set the day and time accurately, the user may first set the time to midnight with the time adjustment knob, pull out the day adjustment knob, set the day to a clock face line between days with that knob, push that knob back in, and then set the time to the correct time with the time adjustment knob.

To provide a display device for a timepiece wherein model changes can be easily made with a simple structure in a timepiece with a retro display.In a day display device, an hour wheel, day intermediate wheel, and cam are disposed on the same axis, and a lever and small day indicator are disposed so as to enclose these components, whereby a simple configuration can be achieved. A large space for accommodating the lever can be provided between the substantial center and the peripheral edge of a main plate on which the hour wheel, day intermediate wheel, and cam rotate on the same axis, and various shapes are made possible by freely extending the lever from the substantial middle to the peripheral edge of the main plate. Therefore, it is possible to form first through third gear parts through, and to provide three positions A through C for incorporating the small day indicator. This has merits in that timepieces of different models can thereby be easily manufactured merely by changing the position for incorporating the small day indicator, and there is no need to change the configuration of the movement when the model is changed.

A multifunction timepiece of the invention is provided with a day display mechanism for operating a small hand moving in a fan shape. The day display mechanism is provided with a day indicator driving wheel, a day jumper, a small day wheel for displaying calendar information, a hammer constituted to rotate based on rotation of a day indicator transmission wheel, and a day return spring for exerting a rotational force to the small day wheel. By bringing a cam contact portion of the hammer to a transmission cam outer periphery portion and exerting an elastic force to a return cam outer shape portion by a return spring portion of the day return spring, the small day wheel is constituted to be exerted with a rotational force in a constant direction.
