摘要： A method to automatically detect and rectify a tray block in a disk drive comprising detecting an occurrence of a tray block in a disk drive upon receiving a tray-out command or a tray-in command by determining whether the tray is in an intermediate position for a predetermined time period, the intermediate position being a position between a first position within a casing of the disk drive and a second position projecting completely outwards from the casing, the tray arranged to receive a record carrier when in the second position and being supported for movement between the first position and the second position. The detected tray block is rectified by cleaning a brush-commutator interface of a tray motor arranged to move the tray between the first position and the second position and is useful for optical recorders and/or players which have a design of a tray open/close mechanism.

摘要： A limit switch controlling method and apparatus used in an optical drive are disclosed. When the optical drive is executing a tray-in/tray-out action or a move-sled home action, a detect-tray-in-switch pin, a detect-tray-out-switch pin, or a detect-sled-limit-switch pin of a controlling chip is used to receive a signal from a limit switch. When the optical drive is not executing the tray-in/tray-out action or the move-sled-home action, the detect-tray-in-switch pin, the-detect tray-out-switch pin, or the detect-sled-limit-switch pin of the controlling chip is used as an I/O port.

摘要： A disk drive including a tray and an opener. The tray includes a disk cartridge mounted thereon and is loaded into and unloaded from a main body. The opener is installed in the main body and elastically contacts a guide formed on the tray. The opener includes a second gear and a first protrusion. The second gear rotates a rotating wheel when in contact with a first gear. The first protrusion formed on a first end of the second gear temporarily rotates the rotating wheel so that the first and second gears can mesh. The guide has a first cam that moves the opener such that the first protrusion does not interfere with the latch when the tray is loaded/unloaded.

摘要： A door apparatus for causing a pair of doors in a front panel to be opened and closed so that a tray for holding a disc can move into and out of the disc drive. The door apparatus comprises a first door and a second door pivotally located near the front panel. A first lever and a second lever rotate on a hinge shaft and intersect each other such that a distal end of each lever is in contact with a side of the first door and the second door, respectively. A guide bar located on a side of the tray slides between the proximal ends of the first lever and the second lever when the tray moves. The guide bar is inserted between the first lever and the second lever, and causes the distal ends of the first lever and the second lever to separate and to thereby open the doors.

The optical disk drive includes a frame, a base chassis rotatably installed on the frame, a spindle motor and a pick-up device installed on the base chassis, a tray moving into and out of the frame when a disk cartridge is mounted on the tray, a loading device for operating the tray and the base chassis, and a disk cartridge recognizing device for sensing whether or not recognition holes formed through a disk cartridge case are opened or closed to display data of the disk cartridge. The disk cartridge recognizing device includes switches fixed to a front part of the frame, and a switch operating portion for operating the switches according to whether or not the recognition holes are opened or closed.

Control means supply different values of the voltage applied to the tray motor according to different mechanical functions controlled by said motor. According to the invention, it is provided, for the tray steering, a motor current feed-forward loop comprising a first direct branch, itself comprising in series a first amplifier of the input voltage applied to the loop, the tray motor and a resistor, and a second branch, itself comprising in series a second amplifier and an adder, which receives on one input the input voltage applied to the loop and on the other one the output of said second amplifier.
