摘要： A disk drive includes a disk rotating unit, a traverse base holding the disk rotating unit, a damper member holding the traverse base, a main unit holding the traverse base through the damper member, a tray mounting a cartridge housing the disk, a driving unit that loads or ejects the tray and moves the disk in the cartridge relative to the disk rotating unit, and a traverse base holding member that is moved vertically by the driving unit relative to the main unit at the time of tray loading or tray ejection. The traverse base is held by the traverse base holding member through the damper member, and the resonance frequencies of the damper member in the radius direction of the disk as it is being loaded and in the direction of a rotation shaft are set higher than the maximum rotational frequency of the disk.

摘要： The invention relates to a tray mechanism consisting of sliding means comprising an electrical tray motor, for moving a tray—provided for containing a disc (for example an optical disc) on which information is recorded—from a projected position, for the placement of the disc or its discharge, to a contained one, for the reproduction of recorded information, or reciprocally, and a drive power source, for supplying an applied voltage to said tray motor. Control means supply different values of the voltage applied to the tray motor according to different mechanical functions controlled by said motor. According to the invention, it is provided, for the tray steering, a motor current feed-forward loop comprising a first direct branch, itself comprising in series a first amplifier of the input voltage applied to the loop, the tray motor and a resistor, and a second branch, itself comprising in series a second amplifier and an adder, which receives on one input the input voltage applied to the loop and on the other one the output of said second amplifier.

摘要： An apparatus and method for locking a tray to prevent a tray from being broken by an abnormal operation are provided. The tray-locking apparatus for a disc drive comprising a motor, a power supply unit, and a control unit. The motor is driven to move the tray into or out of the disc drive. The power supply unit supplies power supply to the motor. The control unit controls the power supply unit to cut off the power supply supplied to the motor, if a tray-locking command is input. The tray can be prevented from being opened and broken by carelessness of a user. Further, a current consumption of the disc drive is reducable by cutting off the power supply supplied to the loading motor.

摘要： A disk drive including a tray on which a disk cartridge is mounted and is loaded into and unloaded from a main body; a guide formed on the tray; and an opening and closing member installed to be elastically connected to the guide. The opening and closing member has a second gear that rotates a rotating wheel by meshing with a first gear; and a first protrusion formed on one end of a second gear and to temporarily rotate the rotating wheel so that the first and second gears can mesh. The guide pushes the first protrusion during loading/unloading of the tray so that the first protrusion and the latch do not come in contact with each other.

Thereby, there is no need for providing to the upper part of the cartridge 101 a system for opening/closing the shutter 101a, and thus a space below the tray 2 can be used effectively, resulting in downsizing of the apparatus.

摘要： First and second optical heads (3A, 3B) are disposed on the same side with respect to a plane including a disk surface. Then, a media tray (19) on which a disk is mounted is moved within a plane substantially parallel with the disk surface. Using two optical heads (3A, 3B) selectively, recording and/or reproducing is performed with respect to the optical disk. The height of a disk apparatus does not increase, and signal lines connected to the optical heads (3A, 3B) are not forced to bend.
