    摘要: An electrical distribution device that includes a terminal for providing a connection to a first conductor, a spring mechanism having a first end that is electrically connected to the terminal, and a second conductor electrically connected to one or more internal components of the device. The spring mechanism has a first condition and a second condition. In the first condition, the second end is electrically connected to the second conductor by solder. When the solder melts, the spring mechanism moves from to the second condition in which the second end is no longer electrically connected to the second conductor, thereby protecting the internal components from the fault condition that lead to the overheating. A condition indicator may also be provided for indicating a fault condition.

    摘要: An electrical protection system, which can be connected between an electrical power supply and an electrical load, firstly includes a switch switchable between a normal state in which the switch is electrically connected in series between the power supply and the load such that an operating current passes through the switch and the load, and a fault sate in which the switch is disconnected with the load such that no current passes through the load. The switch switches to the fault state in an over-current or an over-temperature situation. The system further includes a controller operable in an open state when the switch operates in the normal state, in which state the controller is electrically disconnected from the power supply such that no current passes through the controller, or a closed state when the switch operates in the fault state, in which state the controller is electrically connected in series between the switch and the power supply such that a self-holding current passes through the switch and the controller. The controller operates to automatically set the switch to the normal state when the self-holding current is off.

The temperature sensitive label provides a permanent record of the temperature limits exposed to the thermal switch. The temperature sensitive material changes colors when the thermal switch is exposed to its predetermined temperature limit. The changed color provides a quick and clear indication of an event that caused switch activation. The color indication on the outside surface of the switch also provides a visual indication that is easy to acquire and inspect without the need to have physical access to the switch itself.

    摘要: An indicator movable between a set and an alarm position is latched in the set position by a thermally responsive latch disposed to sense ambient temperature within electrical equipment. If a high temperature event occurs, the latch releases the indicator, which moves under resilient bias to its indicating position to present a visible signal that such an event has occurred. Once temperature has dropped below the alarm value within the electrical equipment, the indicator can be moved back to the set position where it is relatched for continued temperature sensing.

    摘要: A thermally operated switch which utilizes a bimetallic diaphragm. When an overtemperature condition inverts the diaphragm, the diaphragm pushes up a plunger by a sufficient amount to enable a spring to take over and push the plunger up farther. The spring will then hold the plunger in its up position to provide a visual indication of the existence of the overtemperature condition even after the diaphragm has cooled enough to snap back to its normal position to turn the switch back on.
