Abstract:
A DCE sends a first command to a DTE if data transmission from the DCE has not ended at a predetermined timing after the end of data transfer from the DTE to the DCE. The DTE sends a second command to the DCE at an arbitrary timing upon reception of the first command. Upon reception of the second command, the DCE sends to the DTE the first command if data transmission has not ended, or a third command if data transmission has ended. The DTE and DCE execute a post-data transmission procedure after they exchange the third command.
Abstract:
A network facsimile system including a relaying server and a communication terminal connected through a network. The relaying server has a facsimile communication system, an image data creating system, an information obtaining system, and a relaying server side data communication system. Further, the communication terminal includes a communication terminal side data communication system and an image data processing system. The relaying server includes a status setting system that sets an operational status of the network facsimile system to a receivable state where the communication terminal can receive the image through the relaying server when the communication terminal has become usable by a user of the communication terminal.
Abstract:
The described system and procedure provides fax delivery services to a user that only has convenient access to a single-function networked printer device. To accomplish this, the system receives a facsimile sent to a telephone number. Responsive to receiving the facsimile, the facsimile is converted from a fax data format to a printable data format that is compatible with a printer device. Next, the converted facsimile is wrapped in a network transfer protocol language such as Hypertext Transfer Protocol to form a Web Page. Next, a Universal Resource Locator (URL) is identified that corresponds to the telephone number used to send the facsimile to the system. The URL identifies an embedded web server in a printer. Next, the Web page containing the converted facsimile is communicated to the identified embedded web server for printing by the printer.
Abstract:
A communication connecting device includes a data storage to which data read by a scanner are written. A packetizer packetizes the data read out of the data storage in accordance with a packet size fed from a size information storage. A rate controller counts a period of time after the start of packet transmission or a period of time consumed to send a preselected number of packets. The rate controller calculates a communication rate on the basis of the above period of time and the number of packets sent, and then compares the communication rate with a communication rate assigned to a receiving terminal and defined by a Recommendation T.30 protocol. The rate controller allows the packets to be sent only if the calculated communication rate is lower than the communication rate of the receiving terminal.
Abstract:
A facsimile machine provides file specifying information of a transmission file to an agent software. The agent software runs an appropriate application program in accordance with the file specifying information. By using this function, a prescribed file on a data conversion device is converted directly into an image content via a network from the facsimile machine. Accordingly, a facsimile transmission of the image content to a prescribed destination can be carried out just by an operation from the facsimile machine. As a result, an efficiency of a facsimile transmission process is improved.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for converting messages includes stations coupled to facsimile devices and to client machines by a network to allow users at the client machines to communicate with users at the facsimile devices. In addition, the stations include processors for extracting information from messages sent by users at the facsimile devices and received by the stations, using the extracted information to convert the messages, and sending the converted messages through the network to the users at the client machines.
Abstract:
Control system for image input device comprises a control module, an electronic equipment selection module, an image specification setting module and an electronic equipment control signal decoder module. The control module functions to control the operation of hardware and related modules of the image input device. The electronic equipment selection module allows users to select electronic equipments to be connected with the image input device. The image specification setting module sets a group of factors relating to the specification of the input images. The electronic equipment control signal decoder module provides a decoder to convert control signals generated by the electronic equipment into control signals for the image input device and a firmware memory device to store decoding information useful in decoding control signals generated by the electronic equipment.
Abstract:
The system and method of the present invention presents a process for transmitting an electronic message that comprises printing a first document with machine-readable code which contains data corresponding to an electronic address of an intended recipient and transmitting the first document from a facsimile machine to a computerized device configured to receive facsimiles. The machine-readable code is decoded upon receipt by the computerized device to retrieve the data corresponding to the electronic address and an electronic message addressed to the electronic address is generated. The electronic message is then transmitted to the electronic address of the intended recipient.

Abstract:
An apparatus, a method, a system and a program of providing information are disclosed to efficiently provide information corresponding to a plurality of protocols for clients. The information providing apparatus, in response to a request transmitted in accordance with one of different protocols from a terminal via a network, for transmitting dynamic information to the terminal, includes an information obtaining part and an information converting part. The information obtaining part executes a predefined operation corresponding to the request transmitted in accordance with the protocol and obtains the dynamic information. The information converting part converts the dynamic information obtained by the information obtaining part into data corresponding to the protocol in accordance with a conversion rule defined for request identification information included in the request to identify the request.
