摘要： The method of the invention mounts a mechanical fluffing or tedding device that is approximately the width of a tractor tire directly in line and behind the left hand wheels of a tractor pulling a hay mowing implement so that the area of previously cut hay that has been compacted by the wheels of the tractor is immediately tedded or fluffed and the area of non-compacted hay is not tedded or fluffed. The drying time of the hay is therefore reduced, due to the elimination of the compacted area that normally dries slower than the hay that is not compacted.

摘要： An inversion chute for use on a windrow turner having a pickup mechanism for elevating a windrow of crop material off the ground and a cross conveyor for receiving the elevated windrow and conveying the windrow laterally of the direction of travel is disclosed wherein the inversion chute is telescopically mounted in a mounting sleeve to permit lateral adjustment thereof relative to the discharge end of the cross conveyor. The inversion chute is also pivotally mounted on the frame of the windrow turner for movement between an operating position adjacent to and laterally outboard of the cross conveyor and a transport position rearwardly of the pickup and cross conveyor. An overcenter biasing spring retains the inversion chute in its selected position.

摘要： A latching mechanism for a unitized raking implement having a frame and pivotally movable frame arms carrying rake baskets positionable in transport and operating positions is disclosed wherein a spring-loaded locking pin is biased toward engagement with stabilizer bars cooperately engaged with the frame arms to lock the frame arms against pivotal movement. A cable interconecting the hydraulic steering cylinder affects a disengagement of the locking pin from the stabilizer bar when the cylinder is actuated to turn the ground engaging wheels and affect a pivotal movement of the frame arms. A lost motion linkage, including a pair of cantilevered members interconnected by a torsion spring interconnects the cable and the locking pin to permit movement of the cable without affecting movement of the locking pin whenever the locking pin is bound in the stabilizer bar.

摘要： A device for displacing crop lying on the ground such as a side-delivery rake or tedder, has a frame supporting a row of ground-driven rake wheels each of which is movable up and down with respect to the frame. The device can be coupled to a tractor by a fastening structure that includes a frame portion passed through a central hole in one rake wheel. The frame portion connects the beam carrying the rake wheels, to a drawbar of the frame portion. By passing the frame portion through the rake wheel, the fastening structure can be of minimal dimensions reducing the damaging effect of forces applied to the fastening structure during use of the device. The rake wheels are similar to one another except the wheel with a central hole. The hole is surrounded by a circular hub rotatably mounted on fixed rollers on a structure connected to the frame. A supporting ground wheel for the frame is pivoted to a frame support and the pivot interconnected with the frame by a stabilizer that resists the extreme pivotal movements of the ground wheel.

摘要： A raking mechanism is disclosed which comprises a side delivery raking means mounted on a frame having three support wheels. The mechanism can be self-propelled or towed for raking and/or dethatching mowed lawns, with clipped foliage being discharged to one side and deposited in windrows. A steerable first support wheel is located toward the front end of the frame, whereas second and third support wheels are located adjacent the ends of a wheel suspension means that is pivotally attached to the rear of the frame. The second support wheel is mounted on a nonpivotable axle and rotates in a plane that is parallel to the line of draft of the mechanism, and the third support wheel is freely pivotable on a vertical axis. The side delivery raking means is immobilized against vertical movement with respect to the frame, but the rear of the frame can be electively raised or lowered to a preferred elevation for adjusting the height of the raking means relative to the surface of the ground.
