    摘要： An apparatus is configured for use with a ground-engaging wheel of a device configured to move in a travel direction. The apparatus includes a guard and bracket assembly, wherein the guard is configured to be movable over the wheel. The guard has forward portion, a back portion, and a width substantially covering a width of the wheel. The guard is configured to be movable over the wheel from a first position to a second position. In the first position, the forward portion of the guard is disposed proximate an upper portion of the wheel and the back portion of the guard is disposed proximate a rear portion of the wheel relative to the travel direction. In the second position, the forward portion of the guard is disposed proximate a front portion of the wheel and the back portion of the guard is disposed proximate an upper portion of the wheel.

    摘要： The method of the invention mounts a mechanical fluffing or tedding device that is approximately the width of a tractor tire directly in line and behind the left hand wheels of a tractor pulling a hay mowing implement so that the area of previously cut hay that has been compacted by the wheels of the tractor is immediately tedded or fluffed and the area of non-compacted hay is not tedded or fluffed. The drying time of the hay is therefore reduced, due to the elimination of the compacted area that normally dries slower than the hay that is not compacted.

    摘要： A mechanism for clearing paths through a crop bed for the wheels of a tractor includes a pair of power driven vertically, parallelly disposed rotatable cylinders positioned forwardly of a wheel to be moved through a crop bed. The cylinders are rotated in opposite directions so as to engage and thereby displace a crop to either side of a path of a wheel. The speed of rotation of the cylinders is typically in excess of the speed of the tractor. A mounting for the cylinders is cantilevered forwardly of a wheel and includes a mounting for the cylinders which allows independent, limited rotation about an axis transverse to the motion of the tractor so as to permit the lower ends of the cylinders to pass over obstacles that may be present in the crop bed.
