摘要: Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for accurate time delay estimation using coherent averaging. A plurality of out-of-bracket acoustical impulses are generated in a pipe segment of a fluid distribution system. Signal data representing the acoustical impulses sensed at two locations along the pipe segment are recorded. Precise timings for the generation of the acoustical impulses are obtained, and the acoustical impulses in the signal data recorded from the first location are averaged based on the precise timings to produce a near-sensor average impulse. Similarly, the acoustical impulses in the signal data recorded from the second location are averaged based on the same precise timings to produce a far-sensor average impulse. A time delay between arrival of the plurality of out-of-bracket acoustical impulses at the first and second locations is estimated from the timing of the near-sensor average impulse and the far-sensor average impulse.

摘要: A nondestructive method of monitoring scale buildup in a section of pipe includes: transmitting, from a first transducer at a first location of the pipe, axisymmetric torsional ultrasonic guided waves (UGWs) to propagate along the pipe, the torsional UGWs spanning a frequency band comprising multiple higher order modes; receiving, by a second transducer at a second location of the pipe, the propagated torsional UGWs; and determining a thickness of the scale buildup in the pipe between the first location and the second locations using the received torsional UGWs. The determining step comprises: measuring attributes from the received torsional UGWs, the attributes being first arrival times or mode cutoff frequencies; comparing the measured attributes to sets of computed said attributes, each set representing a different scale buildup thickness; and selecting the compared set of computed attributes that is closest to the measured attributes.

摘要: Battery testing systems and methods are disclosed. One system includes one or more test platforms and a processing system. Each test platform performs ultrasonic scans of batteries. During the scans, each test platform can place pressure upon and measure temperature and open circuit voltages of each battery, transmit ultrasound signals into each battery and generate transmitted signal data in response, detect ultrasound signals reflected by or transmitted through each battery in response to the transmitted ultrasound signals and generate received signal data in response. The processing system can quantify aspects of the signal data and present the aspects to one or more battery models, which compute and assign a state of charge (SOC) and a state of health (SOH) to each battery in response. For example, the processing system can be in a service provider network that receives and analyzes signal data sent from test platforms at different customer facilities.

摘要: A rock breaking device and a method of monitoring a condition of a tool of a rock breaking device is provided. The rock breaking device includes a frame, a tool, a device for generating stress waves in the tool, measuring means for measuring the stress wave propagating in the tool and at least one computing unit for monitoring a condition of the tool on the basis of the measured stress wave. The at least one computing unit is configured to determine a condition of the tool on the basis of a time of propagation of at least one reflected stress wave component of the stress wave and at least one additional property of the same reflected stress wave component.

摘要: Methods and systems, including computer-implemented methods, computer program products, and computer systems for wooden pole integrity assessment. One computer-implemented method includes emitting, by one or more acoustic sources mounted onto a wooden pole, one or more sound waves through the wooden pole. Further, the method includes measuring, by one or more acoustic receivers mounted on the wooden pole, a respective amplitude and time of arrival of at least a portion of each of the one or more sound waves. Additionally, the method includes calculating, using the respective amplitude, the respective time of arrival, and a predetermined function, the real-time integrity level of the wooden pole. The method also includes in response to determining that the real-time integrity level of the wooden pole is less than a threshold level, outputting an alert indicating that the integrity level of the wooden pole is less than the threshold level.
