摘要： An improved circuit interrupter comprises an operating shaft pivotally movable to move a movable contact structure, an overcenter spring operating mechanism movable by means of a manually operable drive means from a spring discharged position to an overcenter spring charged position, latch means in a latching position for latching the operating shaft until the overcenter spring operating mechanism reaches the overcenter spring charged position and means automatically unlatching the latch means when the overcenter spring operating mechanism reaches the overcenter spring charged position to permit the overcenter spring operating mechanism to drive the movable contact structure to the closed position independent of the manually operable drive means. The latch means may also be a double latch for performing the same latching function during an opening operation. The latch means prevents slow closing and opening operations of the circuit interrupter.

摘要： A switch including three conductors for connection, respectively, to a normal power source, an emergency power source, and a load, as well as three conductors for connection to an automatic transfer switch. An isolating switch contact is located between each power source conductor and one of the transfer switch conductors, and a bypass contact is located between the load conductor and the third transfer switch conductor. Manually operable control means are provided for opening and closing the isolating switch contacts, and for positioning the bypass contact so that it engages either its respective transfer switch conductor or one of the power source conductors. An interlock forming part of the control means prevents opening of the isolating switch contacts unless the bypass contact is engaging one of the power source conductors. The interlock also prevents disengagement of the bypass contact from either power source conductor unless the isolating contacts are closed. The control means also includes means defining only a limited number of stable positions of the bypass contact.

摘要： An electric circuit breaker containing electromagnetic-assist means for opposing the contact-repulsion forces developed when a high current flows through the breaker. The electromagneticassist means comprises a rigid support member which when restrained in a fixed position renders the assist means capable of transmitting closing force to the movable contact but which, when released, disable the assist means. Releasable latching means restrains the support member in said fixed position when the contacts are engaged. This latching means is controlled by the motion of a contact-operating member that is coupled to the movable contact through a suitable wipe mechanism.

摘要： A circuit breaker is provided which is capable of effecting an instant cutoff when excess current is introduced while the circuit breaker is in operation. In addition, the circuit breaker has means cooperatively associated therewith for selectively indicating normal cutoffs and those arising because of excess current from the condition in which the contact members are engaged during normal operation. In this device, a movable arm rotatably disposed on a second rotatably mounted arm has a contact secured to one end which detachably contacts a fixed contact to switch a circuit. Means are provided for normally urging the first movable arm in a direction to separate the contacts. A driving device for displacing the first movable arm and the second movably arm jointly through an engaging mechanism connected therebetween causes the contacts to engage, and another device responsive to an excess current sensing means is provided for disengaging the engaging mechanism to permit the contacts to be separated in such cases, even while the circuit breaker is being normally operated.
