摘要： A disposable sanitary napkin includes a main body and a pair of bridged flaps. The main body includes an absorbent system, a topsheet, and a backsheet, and it has a pair of side edges extending along the length thereof. The bridged flaps include a first straight edge, a second, shape-cut edge defining a projecting portion, and a bridging segment of a release liner having at least one zone of adhesive configured for attachment to the projecting portion of each bridged flap. Each bridged flap is attached to the main body with the first, substantially straight edge of each shaped strip aligned with a corresponding side edge of the main body, the bridged flaps are disposed over the topsheet, and each side flap is releasable from the bridging segment of the release liner.

摘要： A fastening tape, mechanical fastener, methods of making them, and personal hygiene articles including them are disclosed. The fastening tape includes a tape backing having a fastening portion, an adhesive disposed on the fastening portion, and a release surface for the adhesive. The release surface is a either a release tape attached along one of its edges to the tape backing or a release coating disposed on at least a portion of a surface of the tape backing. At least one of the tape backing or the release surface comprises a microporous film having an opaque, microporous region and at least one see-through region of lower porosity within the opaque, microporous region. The mechanical fastener includes such a microporous film and mechanical fastening elements on at least one surface. The at least one see-through region extends through the thickness of the microporous film.

摘要： A laminate of an at least partially reticulated thermoplastic film joined to an extensible carrier. The reticulated thermoplastic film includes a backing with openings and discrete elements protruding from the first major surface. There are two discrete elements aligned in a first direction abutting opposite ends of any given opening. In a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, there is one discrete element between the given opening and an adjacent opening aligned in the second direction. Each portion of the thermoplastic backing around the given opening is plastically deformed in its lengthwise direction. A method of making a laminate is also disclosed. The method includes stretching a thermoplastic backing having a plurality of discrete elements in the first direction and laminating the backing to an extensible carrier. Subsequently stretching the laminate in a second direction forms a tear in the thermoplastic backing between two adjacent of the discrete elements.

The attachment regions are adapted to transition from the protected condition to a fixed donning condition where a portion of the body adhesive is exposed and a portion of the body adhesive is covered. The attachment regions are adapted to transition from the fixed donning condition to a fully exposed condition where the body adhesive is fully exposed.

摘要： According to one embodiment, an absorbent article to be worn about a wearer has a front portion and a back portion. The absorbent article includes an outer layer, an inner layer that is substantially co-extensive with the outer layer, an absorbent layer and one or more fasteners, which are located on the back portion of the absorbent article. The absorbent layer is interposed between the outer layer and the inner layer to form the absorbent article. The outer layer has a central portion between two side portions. The central portion of the outer layer is treated with a chemical to substantially inhibit attachment of the one or more fasteners to the central portion of the outer layer. The one or more fasteners secure the back portion to the outer layer of the front portion. Specifically, the one or more fasteners are configured to secure the back portion to a region of the outer layer which is not treated with the chemical.

摘要： A wound dressing is provided which includes an inner layer with a plurality of drain holes around the perimeter. The inner layer is resistant to penetration by liquid. Adjacent the inner layer is an absorbent layer. An outer layer is adjacent, but not attached to the absorbent layer. The outer layer is resistant to penetration by liquid. The outer layer includes an adhesive band. A removable protective layer covers the adhesive bands and includes a plurality of perforations spaced about the protective layer with a plurality of non-perforated sections between the perforations such that when removed, the perforations cause separation at the perforations and only one non-perforated section is removed at a time. A base layer is provided with an open area and adhesive bands. The base layer is attached to the skin and the outer layer covers the open area of the base layer.
