    摘要： A cutter for a styrene board has an operation piece and a pair of cutter edges. The operation piece has at its forward end a flat surface coming into surface contact with the upper surface of the styrene board. The pair of cutter edges is attached to the operation piece so as to project in a mountain shape from the forward end of the operation piece. The lower end tip is formed at blades sections of inclined surfaces of the pair of cutter edges, and the tip is used to cut, in substantially a V-shape, that portion of the styrene board which excludes a sheet on the lower surface of the styrene board. Even an unskilled person can finely cut the styrene board in a V-shape, leaving the sheet on the lower surface of the board uncut.

More particularly, the present invention relates to methods and devices for minimizing exposure to noxious and irritating gasses that are emitted from certain freshly cut produce, such as the syn-propanethial-S-oxide gas that is emitted by freshly cut onions. In certain preferred embodiments of the invention, a device is provided for cutting onions, which comprises (i) an open-ended container that is adapted to hold a liquid and (ii) a slicer that is capable of cutting onions when submerged in the liquid that is housed within the container.

The method includes the steps of performing first and second passes of the web through a saw having cutter groups at adjustably spaced apart locations, each cutter group having at least two cutters (101, 102, 103, 104) set to angles so that the cutters of each cutter group correspond to a subset of said series of cuts (201, 202, 203, 204) at a respective end of the web. The web is rotated between the passes, the rotation between passes and the cutter settings together result in a multi-faceted end cut.

A first set of cutting knives is comprised of knives that are generally scalloped shaped. A second set of cutting knives is comprised of knives that are generally straight and are connected in general perpendicular orientation to the first set of strip knives. When a vegetable product such as a potato is forced through the cutter blade assembly, the first set of knives cuts the potato into a scalloped shaped slab. The second set of knives then cuts the slab into a scoop shaped potato piece emulating a portion of a cut stalk of celery.
