    Abstract: A winding mechanism for a machine for cutting and rolling a strip includes: first and second spaced apart vertical walls; a member fixed to and spanning the first and second vertical walls to form a frame; a spindle rotatably mounted in the first vertical wall; a cylindrical body rotatably mounted in the second vertical wall and coupled to the spindle; a hub slidably and rotatably mounted on the spindle with first and second pins that are slidable relative to the cylindrical body; a rotary drive unit mounted to the first vertical wall and coupled to the spindle; a linear actuator; and a carriage mounted on the linear actuator for linear movement and slidably mounted on the spindle, the carriage engaging the hub and permitting rotation of the hub. The carriage moves along the linear actuator between a retracted position, wherein the first and second pins are retracted into the cylindrical body, and an extended position, in which ends of the first and second pins extend beyond the cylindrical body.

    Abstract: A device for preparing plastic containers (16) for being put into use. The containers (16) are molded to one another in container blocks (17) side by side along separating lines (18). Along the separating lines, the individual containers (16) can be separated from one another for use. Cutter blades (28) are movably guided at least in part along the separating line. The cutter blades (28) are, arranged on a carriage (64) movably guided back and forth between a position of use and a position of non-use. In the position of use, the r cutter blades (28) are raised by a swivel device (54, 78, 82) and move along the separating lines (18). In the position of non-use of the cutter blades, the cutter blades are lowered at a distance from the containers (16) to be separated from one another.

    Abstract: A heat sealing machine and method form blister packages. A backing material web extends between a nesting tray assembly and a seal and cut tooling assembly and a blister tray is resident within a blister nest of the nesting tray assembly. The backing material web is clamped between a clamping gasket support shoulder of the nesting tray assembly and a clamping shoulder of the seal and cut tooling assembly, and between a sealing gasket support shoulder of the nesting tray assembly and a heat seal shoulder of a heater assembly. A knife of the seal and cut tooling assembly extends between the clamping gasket support shoulder and the sealing gasket support shoulder to cut a backing sheet from the backing material web that is heat sealed to an attachment surface of the blister tray to form the blister package.
