    摘要: An electrically powered hoisting system is operated by seating a line attached to the load to be hoisted in a groove formed between two sheave components and activating the electrical drive motor to rotate the sheave assembly. Voltage for the electrical drive motor is provided by an on-board 12 volt battery and voltage to the drive motor is controlled by means of a switch device. The groove formed by the sheave components has a resilient gripping surface that provides a firm line gripping action and hands-free and self-tailing operation. A davit, davit mounting brackets, and a flexible mounting assembly for mounting the powerhead assembly to a support are also disclosed.

    摘要: The most commonly used spring type chain lever hoists suffer from a major drawback in that, if the chain is drawn quickly over the load sheave while it is set for free running operation, the brake will automatically be applied and the free running movement terminated. Similarly, if a light load is suspended from the chain, the weight of the load may be insufficient to activate the brake with the result that the load will be wound down dangerously quickly, leading on occasion to accidents. The present invention is designed to resolve these potentially fatal flaws by enabling a hub, which screws freely onto a spindle in the conventional manner, to be rotated through a few degrees into a prescribed lock position relative to the spindle and then locked there either temporarily or permanently as required.

The transition between the three different speeds takes place fully automatically by just changing the direction of rotation of the driving gear, without requiring any further operation on the winch.

    摘要: This scaffold hoist uses a transmission mechanism whose output shafts are fastened to the hoist housing, and whose case rotates, carrying a sheave which impels the mechanism along the cable. The transmission mechanism is advantageously a quadrant drive for extremely high torque-to-weight ratio.The sheave has a peripheral groove, tapered and deep enough to seat a cable having any of three different diameters, at different depths in the groove.The cable wraps around three-fourths of the sheave. Around five-eighths of the sheave, a chain presses the cable into the groove. The chain rollers enter the groove deeply enough to engage even the smallest-diameter cables of interest, while clearing the sheave periphery. The chain side bars ride along the sides of the sheave, holding the chain and cable in position.A resettable overspeed brake uses a rotary cam that jams a cable of any of the three sizes, at correspondingly various cam angles. The cam is cocked out of contact with the cable, and immediately spring-driven against the cable when triggered by a centrifugal sensor. A backup block--which keeps the cable from retreating from the cam--slides away from the cable at an angle during resetting, to facilitate unjamming the cable by moderate force.

A plurality of arcuately shaped ridges are defined on opposing surfaces of the discs. The ridges extend substantially axially from the center of the discs to the circumferences of the discs. The first and second discs are journalled to a rotatable shaft. The axial and angular positions of one or both of the discs with respect to the shaft may be adjustable. The shaft may include an articulated joint to permit the angle of rotation of the first disc to be displaced from the angle of rotation of the second disc.
