Abstract:
An umbrella table with an inlaid turntable is disclosed. The table includes a tabletop having a substantially planar top surface with a circular aperture therein. A disc is rotatably mounted in the circular aperture. The disc has a substantially planar upper surface and a central opening therethrough. The top surface of the tabletop and the upper surface of the disc are substantially coplanar, and the central opening is capable of receiving a cylindrical shaft such as the shaft of an umbrella.
Abstract:
A variable current source model accurately determines timing delays for designs of circuits implemented in integrated circuits. A design for an integrated circuit specifies a resistive-capacitive (“RC”) network. The RC network couples a driving point and a receiving point, and a circuit specified in the design, drives the RC network at the driving point. The variable current source model determines driving currents for the circuit at the driving point based on the RC network and a characterization model of the circuit. A timing delay between the driving point and the receiving point is determined by simulating the drive of the RC network with the driving current at the driving point.
Abstract:
Heterocyclic aromatic compounds are provided which are useful in stimulating endogenous production or release of growth hormone and in treating obesity, osteoporosis (improving bone density) and in improving muscle mass and muscle strength. The heterocyclic aromatic compounds have the structure including pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and all stereoisomers thereof, wherein Xa is heteroaryl, preferably, and R1, R1a, R6, Y, Xb, A, B, Z, R3, R4, R4a, R5 and R5a are as defined herein.
Abstract:
Various methods for effectively detecting the discontinuous transmission (DTX) mode are provided both from the physical layer perspective and from the medium access layer (MAC) perspective. The DTX mode transmission on reverse supplemental channels is detected by comparing a transmitted and a received power ratio of a pilot channel and a supplemental channel. For a reverse link communication, the DTX mode transmission is detected on dedicated control channels. The DTX mode transmission on a forward link supplemental channel can also be detected by monitoring both the transmitted and received power ratios of a primary power control channel and the supplemental channel. As an alternative to or in combination with the above mentioned methods, in order to monitor the DTX mode, a new network parameter is introduced which requires a change in the IS-2000-3 standard. This parameter acts as an indicator signaling to a receiver, from the MAC layer, that the transmitter has entered into the DTX mode.

FIG. 5 is a right side view thereof. FIG. 6 is a top view thereof. FIG. 7 is a bottom view thereof; and, FIG. 8 is a rear perspective view thereof. The broken lines in the drawings depict portions of the hand-held fan that form no part of the claimed design.
Abstract:
The subject invention provides arsinothricin (AST) or salts thereof, and compositions comprising AST or a salt thereof for use as multi-stage antimalarials. The subject invention also provides methods for treating, inhibiting and/or preventing malaria infection and transmission by using AST or salts thereof, or compositions comprising AST or a salt thereof. Advantageously, AST or a salt thereof inhibits glutamine synthetase (GS) of malaria pathogens without exhibiting cytotoxicity to human host.

Abstract:
The invention pertains to methods and vaccines suitable for preventing or reducing malaria transmission. The vaccines block the interaction between α-tubulin from a malarial parasite and FREP-1 from the mid-gut of a malaria carrier mosquito, for example, Anopheles gambiae.
