    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to reducing response latency in fixed allocation content selection infrastructure. An allocator engine selects a content campaign for offline selection based on an allocation metric for the content campaign. A load balancer component identifies, in a distributed computing environment and based on resource utilization information, a computation resource and a time window during which to launch the offline selection. A content selector component launches, during the time window, the offline selection and generates candidate impression criteria. The content selector component receives a request for content via a computer network. Responsive to the request matching the candidate impression criteria, the content selector component disables a real-time selection for the request. The content selector component transmits instructions to render a content item object corresponding to the matching candidate impression criteria generated during the offline selection.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for managing locks for non-existing keys in an index of a database. The system can receive a first transaction for accessing a first requested key that does not match any of a plurality of keys in the index. The system partitions the first requested key using a partitioning function to a first partition. The system can also receive a second transaction for accessing a second requested key that does not match any of the plurality of keys in the index. The system also partitions the second requested key using the partitioning function to a second partition. The system assigns locks to the second transaction only if the second partition is distinct from the first partition.

    Abstract: A robot system includes: an upper body section including one or more end-effectors; a lower body section including one or more legs; and an intermediate body section coupling the upper and lower body sections. An upper body control system operates at least one of the end-effectors. The intermediate body section experiences a first intermediate body linear force and/or moment based on an end-effector force acting on the at least one end-effector. A lower body control system operates the one or more legs. The one or more legs experience respective surface reaction forces.
