Abstract:
Provided is a lawn maintenance vehicle including a frame having a first axle and a second axle mounted to the frame. A first drive wheel and a second drive wheel are mounted to the first and second axle. An energy storage device and an electric motor having a motor shaft are mounted to the frame. The electric motor is in electrical communication with the energy storage device and the energy storage device provides electrical power to the electric motor. The lawn maintenance vehicle further includes a traction drive. The traction drive is operably connected to the motor shaft, and the traction drive is operably connected to the first and second axles. The lawn maintenance vehicle includes an implement mounted to the frame. The lawn maintenance vehicle can also include an internal combustion engine operably connected to the electric motor.
Abstract:
A gardening shears comprises a first blade (10) and a second blade (20) which are provided with respective hand grips (12, 22), respectively, and are rotatably connected to one another via a pivot connection (13, 23, 30, 41). The pivot connection comprises a pivot bolt (32) passing through respective bores (13, 23) of the first and second blade (10, 20), respectively and secures the blades (10, 20) in axial direction of the pivot bolt (32) to one another. The pivot bolt (32) comprises in its axial direction successive first and second peripheral sections (34, 35), the first peripheral section (34) being rotatably mounted over a limited angular region within the bore (13) of the first blade (10) whereas the second peripheral section being non-rotatably secured within the bore (21) of the second blade.
Abstract:
A non-pneumatic tire with at least one annular band having an inner ring and a deformable outer ring, a plurality of generally flexible web-spokes connecting the inner ring to the outer ring and a ground contacting tread cap affixed to the annular band.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing injection-molded components having complex features is disclosed. Prior methods typically require the use of a three-piece mold system to form an injection molded component having a complex feature, such as a lawn mower hood having a parabolic shaped front. With the development of a new rigid type of reflective material the present method can thereby utilize a two-piece mold system to form an injection molded component having complex features such as a lawn mower hood having a C-shaped open cavity located at the front of the hood.
Abstract:
A starter mechanism for an internal combustion engine having a spring that is wound during the starting operation of the internal combustion engine. As the operator pulls the starter rope of the engine the starter spring begins to wind creating a force within the spring. Once the spring force overcomes the compression force of the piston the spring will unwind thereby turning the crankshaft of the engine and consequently starting the engine. The starter rope is returned to the housing of the starter mechanism by the use of a rope return spring.
Abstract:
A vacuum unit used to vacuum lawn debris includes a vacuum unit body having at least first and second inlet openings and at least one flap that can be adjusted to selectively cover and open the second opening. The vacuum unit body includes a flap adjustment member that is located within the second opening and that includes a contact surface that contacts the flap. Preferably, the flap adjustment member has one end that is adapted to receive a vacuum hose. The flap adjustment member can be placed into a first position where it causes the flap to open the second opening and a second position where it permits the flap to cover the second opening. The vacuum hose has a handle that can be attached to the vacuum unit handle permitting the vacuum hose to remain permanently attached to the vacuum unit even when the vacuum hose is not being used.
Abstract:
A speed control system and method of assembling such a system for a power equipment vehicle such as a lawn mower. The speed control system comprises a speed control bail that pivots with respect to the vehicle handle bar, a pivot rod, and a cover. In order to increase the speed of the vehicle the operator pushes the speed control bail in the forward direction and in order to decrease the speed of the vehicle the operator pulls the bail in the backward direction. Assembly of the system on to the vehicle handle bar does not require the use of hand held or power tools thereby reducing manufacturing time and ultimately reducing production costs.
Abstract:
A Zero Turn Radius vehicle is provided that utilizes a drive system including a single hydraulic variable displacement pump and dual variable displacement hydraulic motors connected respectively one to each of two ground engaging wheels for use in steering and propelling the vehicle. The configuration of the drive system allows for proper ZTR steering of the in the forward and reverse directions.
